I gave on the standing desk meme. Between the increased varicose veins risk and the fact after months I'm in more pain than ever before. I still use it but only for quickly doing things it's perfect for that.
I was wondering if any of you managed to make it work via a balance board? Just a board with a large bump in the middle so you can sorta shift around while you stand.
Is there any evidence these things help reduce the chance of getting varicose veins? Does the extra movement reduce the pains and strains of standing?
Sitting hurts worse than anything no matter how I sit or which chair I use. Sitting all these years really takes its toll. Laying down eases the pain but makes me feel like I'm dying over long periods and I can't use a regular mouse from this position which limits what I can do. I already exercise all the time and take breaks but it's no solution.

It just works

Damn man, sounds like age hit you hard. You seen a professional about your posture? Taking anything for pain?

I really am interested in alternative controls and motion controllers. It would be great if the VR meme managed to produce a better motion controller.
I have an idea for a motion controller with a left and right side of a thumb keyboard in each hand. I can type about 40wpm on thumb keyboard without auto correct which is three times slower than with a standard keyboard but it's better than one hand entry or manually selecting keys with a cursor.
The big problem with VR is it covers your eyes. I think AR or MR will be much better for this.

I'm in my 30s. I've always been active and am more physically capable than most human beings. But it hurts sitting all day. When I'm not sitting, I feel good. The doctor just says to not do things that hurt. I have perfect posture.
Oh and I take Ibuprofen for pain. I'm in good shape and eat a healthy diet. I don't smoke, drink or do drugs. No prescriptions.
