Meet the Dell OptiPlex GX280.
This is my work PC at a fortune 500 company.
I've been working here since 2005, one year since the release of this PC.
It originally had Windows 2000, then XP, and finally 7.
No parts have been replaced or upgraded.
Opening a fairly sized Excel spreadsheet takes approximately 3 minutes, an image heavy PowerPoint almost 5.
Visual Studio requires me to leave it on during my 40 minute break to finish the component load.
Over the weekend IT is upgrading it to Windows 10.
What should I expect on Monday?

I bet you don't know any of the specs of that computer..

A non-functional PC. It's probably going to crash your shit if you can barely even handle 7.
Why the fuck are you still on a 10 year old system in a "fortune 500 company", and why are they so inept that they are upgrading the OS on it instead of replacing it?
I almost refuse to believe this is true but I've seen bigger companies do stupider shit.

Are you the janitor?

The drivers are borked and unsigned for sure, they've been doing in place upgrades, not clean installs, so much leftover garbage. I don't have admin rights to clean it up.
They thknk It's cost effective, but they're making us waste time.
I'm pretty sure our server for old accounts is running NT in an intranet.
Everything is fucking DOS on it.
McKesson healthcare database.

Start looking for a new job. You're employed by retards.
There is a good chance that thing actually couldnt run 10. It may lack the extended instruction sets which 10 uses.
Heck, can it boot GPT?

This. People are having problems getting P4 HT chips to work with it (https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/windows-10-on-pentium-4-ht.2458350/).
They did get it running on a Pentium M, but that's not nearly as old as a P4.
