It works in that it does change settings according to each option. Whether this actually helps or not with your privacy depends on who you ask. Most people are fine, but some still believe that windows routinely sends out screenshots and your dick picks directly to nutella's email.

If you're really concerned, you should learn more on your own regarding MS telemetry, rather than just settle for a single tool.
