GTX 750 Ti is outdated, it doesn't support HEVC hardware decoding or VP9 hardware decoding like Pascal GPUs do.

Hi boi. I got the evga 750 ti oc with 2gb in a dell inspiron 570 with amd 2.8 ghz and 6 gb of ram, 500w psu. I play everything at 1080p high settings, no physix, from 50 to 60 fps (batman arkham origins, tomb rider).
It is pretty good indeed, and cheap. Dont fall for the 10xx meme. Be a good boi, get the humble 750 ti, the little graphics card that could.

That GTX 950 performs worse than a regular 950, so the fact that it's slot-powered is irrelevant really. They could only make it that way by crippling it. Not to mention that it draws more than 75W from the PCIe slot, but nobody cared because Nvidia paid them not to.

Honestly man, I have no idea why anyone would pay $150 for a new card with shit performance when you can just fork over the extra $50 or so and get a 470/480/970. If you want a cheap shitty card just buy some used 7950 on craigslist for $80. That's just my opinion. I know buying used cards is risky but honestly you're spending so little it doesn't really matter. People who can afford and have an interest in computer hardware are usually decent people and likely wouldn't knowingly give you a broken card, this is from my experience buying and selling used GPUs on craigslist for years. Never had a bad experience, never gave or got a card that wasn't in perfect condition from anyone.

I just think if you're willing to spend $120+ on a GPU you might as well spend $200 and get something decent, or just jew hard and save the cash.

Thing is the 750ti is awesome for its low power draw. I run Skyrim Ultra settings with a shit Q6600 at 48fps stable. The GPU only uses 40% of its full power.

Yeah I am a cheapstake, that's why I converted an unused pre-built work station into a low-end game station (sandy i3, 8gb ram and 750ti that is). The problem here is that even in 2016 there's no half-height version of 9xx and 10xx, msi's half-height 750ti was the best graphic card available which fits my bill (small to fit in thin case and draw little power so the 250w psu can handle it along with mobo and 2 more HDDs).
