I installed pic related a while back and loved having 4 email accounts in one spot but I've noticed some disadvantages.
Compared to Android email clients like bluemail which requires no configuration for microsoft and gmail accounts, thunderbird took some configuration and experimenting. Not a huge deal but there it is.
I can't make it download all emails from all accounts at once. It only downloads a message at the time I try to access it, and that is always slow.
Even though I never change the styles, the default fonts and paragraph spacing change to ugly shit on their own with updates or something.
Using this on Mint by the way.
sylpheed
takes some getting used to but it's the best lightweight, full featured client i've used

I use Thunderbird myself. As for the last issue just pick up or make a classic Thunderbird style. I find that something triggers your autism it probably did the same for someone else with a little more initiative.

's okay
I use thunderbird on W10,and have been using it since XP. Never really had an issue with it. I use an office 2003 theme for it.
I use Thunderbird for usenet, and gmail's webclient for email.
Some day I'll run my own mail server and do better.
