Ayy senpai I had a retarded idea that's kinda working

I got a seedbox for life off of cloudatcost on sale and it's been working a treat for years, however the storage is a bit lacking and today I had the horrid idea to just make a shit ton of google accounts and mount all the google drive accounts on it for more free storage for life, and it's been going well and I'm using https://github.com/astrada/google-drive-ocamlfuse for the mounting however transmission doesn't recognize the files in there.

I just wanna upload from these drives, but when I cp the files over (works a treat) and smack verify it gets about a second into verifying and then pretends I never hit verify in the first place (in transmission web interface).

What gives?
>>
>>56009384
Easy way? No.
The nearest thing that I know of would be finding the ip range of the servers this program connects to and then messing with the Windows routing table to force OpenVPN as the default gateway for that range (the OpenVPN host has to be configured to support this, not all do). However this will affect all the programs trying to connect to those IP addresses, not only the program you want to.

Aight hear me out /g/. I need soemthing very specific. I need some site or something, a link anyone can click that would instantly show to whoever clicks it what I need. And what I need is something like this.
Suppose I want to show everyone in the world my schedule, for whatever it is that I am doing. Something like, I will set on that site that I will be doing this from 7:00 - 14:00.
And then, whoever clicks on the site, will see these time numbers translated into their timezones. So I will set it from 7:00 my time, but someone in a +6 time zone will see it as 13:00.
Or if something like this doesn't exist, I need a timezone converter for dummies. Shit is complicated.

the 6600k has no hyperthreading and is clocked at 3.5ghz instead of 4ghz, if you put your 6600k to 4ghz it's basically the same chip minus 4 threads

in practice it will only ever make a difference under extreme cpu load like video rendering (gpus do it better), hash cracking (gpus do it FAR better) or for running SEVERAL high thread count programs near max load (as overclocking will give better performance than an extra core unless your program uses both a lot of cores and uses them to their max)

tl;dr you dun goofed

In newer versions of firefox the one click bookmark star has it's behavior changed a little.

Before if you clicked the star, the color would change and that would be it. If you wanted to change stuff you'd click it again to drop down a menu.

In newer versions it will automatically drop down a menu to give you options. Then you have to click again to close that menu.

Is there a way to bring back the previous behavior?

You've just thrown away a bunch of money. I hope you're gonna sell your 6600k,how much do you think you can get for it?

Buying a cpu now before zen is a rather bad idea, especially when you don't need to. We can finally hope for significant improvements in cpus again since Sandy.

Having a system for long is just a bad idea. Since higher end parts are less price efficient, you'll have a better and cheaper system over all if you upgrade a bit more often and buy midrange.

The difference between your two cpus aren't very big.

Forgot to say. I have a monoprice charger personally. For charging purposes it works just fine (~$20 for 10,000 mAh). But for something like powering a raspberry pi....it cant produce a consistent 5V. Under load it drops randomly, ranging from 4.7V to 5.12V.

Question about PSU and power efficiency.
Why is it important to respect the power efficiency of a PSU for your system ? Will your PUS run hotter, be louder if it's too powerful for your system ? or it doesn't matter ?
>>
>>56012526
No.

But there's lots of places to go talk to decent people.

Also what's a "real mic" that's so cheap?
>>
>>56012567
power efficiency will play a role both in the heat produced by the psu and the amount of power being sucked out of the wall compared to the amount being piped out.

if you pull 100W from the wall with a 70% efficiency, you'll get 70W out (and thus 30W of heat).
>>
>>56012567
psu are usually most efficient with ~50% load

80+ is preferred for heat/longevity but from 80+ to platimnum there isn't much difference in power consumption costs.
>>
Let's assume I want to add a wifi ap to my network to extend the range, but can't use wires.
I've got a spare router, so I use wds on that and connect to the more "upstream" router/modem combo, and assign it an IP in the same network.
Now, the devices see each other - or at least the main sees the second one, because I can access the config pages of both when I connect to the first AP, but only the second when I connect to the second. And I can't ping the first AP from my clients when I connect to the second.
I assume it doesn't forward the packets correctly, but what should I add to the routing table? They're on the same god damn fucking network, it should work without routing tables voodoo, shouldn't it?
What am I doing wrong?
I just wanna have internet in the shitter two floors up.

>>
>>56012652
There can be a difference if your electricity cost is high. There's also a difference between 240V (more efficient) vs 120V. But in the states it's a bit hard to get 240V and I'm not sure if 3 phase power is worth the trouble.

Hey /g/, I'm in the process of upgrading to a couch station, I would basically have my normal setup (27' next to a vertical monitor) behind my couch and in front of the couch a huge ass monitor.

I've been looking for months and when I was almost ready to buy a Philips BDM4350UC I found out it has terrible burn in issues and now I'm kind of back to the starting point.

Are TVs really that bad for gaming? Is there any 40''+ with acceptable ghosting and input lag?

I figured I will either buy some 1080p for <400 euros and then upgrade both my graphic card and monitor to 4k in a few years or spend a bit more now (<900) and buy a decent graphic card when they will actually be able to support 4k gaming maxed out.

Please please help me out.

P.S. I live in Italy so yeah, something that ships in Europe.

So as long as the file isn't opened in an editing program, it can be transfered and sent to other people an infinite amount of times without any degradation, right?
>>
My stupid question.

Why isn't my new build outputting video? I've reconnected everything twice, made sure there was thermal past on the cpu, reseated the ram, tried both the graphics card and the onboard graphics from the motherboard, tried VGA, DVI, AND HDMI inputs on both monitor and tv and I can't figure this shit out

Any ideas?
>>
>>56017210
Are you plugging the video cable into the GPU?
>>
>>56017204
you can open it as many times as you want in editing programs.
you can even save it as lossless again, but you will never recover the information lost due to jpeg compression.

to create that jpeg you had a lossless image, be it either from the cameras sensor or or some image editing program, which then got converted into a jpeg.
the information is now lost and cannot be recovered.
that's why saving in lossless is preferred to some extent.

Yes I've plugged the video cable into the gpu and it didn't work so I tried plugging it in the mobo but still no work

Interested in buying a radar detector. I live in one of the few states where they're actually legal, so don't need to worry about being caught with it. Kinda confused with all the options. Do I need to shell out $300+, or will one of the ones around $100 do the job?
>>
>>56017322
If you have a GPU then you have to plug the video cable into it. It won't work with the motherboard.

Is the computer turning on and just not outputting any video or is it not working at all?
Check to make sure power cables are all plugged in properly and try again.

When I turn off the wi-fi from my modem I have nice, steady, low ping, like 30-60ms. As soon as I turn on the wifi it fucking skyrockets anywhere from as low as 500ms to as high as 3000ms. What's the deal?

Okay guys if you were wondering I fixed the issue. I took the exact same directories from my laptop (also running Windows 7) and put it over to this computer. For both Variables TEMP and TMP under User variables for <user>, the directory is "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp%"

This also fixed a bunch of issues for me, such as being able to play CSGO, actually view jpeg's and png's with Windows Photo Viewer, and actually open Word documents I've downloaded from my email without the need of using Administrator Privileges.

When the maximum refresh rate of a monitor is 60 Hz or 144 Hz or anything in between - how do synthetic benchmarks report refresh rates like 750 FPS or any value far above the normal refresh rate of the monitor? How does that work? Or how do these guys get 600 FPS playing first person shooters?

Thank you for your reply.
>>
>>56017817
The game is actually running at X FPS, while the screen only displays as fast as it can. That's why, for example, without VSync, you get screen tearing, because the game is going too fast for the screen to match it's speed with the refresh rate.

You might have to RMA what you think isn't working then.

Go back double check your work. Try booting with just a cpu mobo and ram, see if you get any codes.

Also try testing ram sticks independently in each ram slot. I had a board with a single bad slot that kept the whole thing from booting when used.

I personally prefer an external unless you're going to be using it heavily.

Would JUST deleting every partition of an HDD with fdisk WITHOUT creating any new partitions or formatting fuck up a drive?
