Fellow /g/entoomen, could anyone please explain how UEFI works with grub and vice versa?
>have windows 10 with UEFI in one disk
>disabled fast boot and secure boot in bios
>install Kali and grub on another disk
>grub boots into Kali just fine
>grub shows Windows Vista (loader) but loading it results in "a disk read error occurred" message (pic related)
>bios still detects a "windows boot manager" record which automatically boots into Windows 10 but doesn't detect Kali at all
What do? Can I change the grub to somehow boot into Windows 10? Or add an EFI to Windows to boot into grub instead?

Pic is my boot override in bios. Also, I may have CSM enabled if that affects anything.

Maybe you need to have both OS on efi boot? Just installed yesterday a second distro and the first one got its grub fucked up right after the install

Try switch your BIOD boot options back to Windows Friendly Bullshit(tm) if you want to boot windows.
I was fucking around with a friend's laptop and ... don't quote me on this ... but I got the impression that the bootloader was stored in a different location depending on the BIOS setting.
I can't be fucked googling it because I don't use Windows. Try it and report back.

I can boot into Windows just fine from bios and grub from bios too. I can't boot to Windows from grub or Kali from EFI however.
