Hey guys, Im starting an intro to comp sci course in a couple of weeks. It is focused on java and object oriented programming. what should I be doing to prepare for the class? What can I expect? Also, does anyone have a digital copy of Big Java: Early Objects (6th ed)? shit is expensive and I would like to save a couple shekels. thanks everyone.

No.

Good luck.

have you done this course before? is it going to be hard?
>>

No.

Everything's going to be hard. Computer Science and programming especially, it might be easy if you're some sort of technology prodigy or something like that, but expect a challenge.

It's going to be hard, College is tough stuff. You're going to want to give up, but don't. Keep working at it. Ask for help, get in touch with some programmers fluent in Java.

That's the cheapest I could find for the book you want, but it's an e-book and that stuff doesn't feel good when reading it.

Thanks for the advice, encouragement, and link, thats pretty cheap compared to some other sources. Are you saying you recomend a physical book?
>>
>>56003455
It's all preference, really. I prefer physical books since I find it easier to read, and it just feels /right/ when it's being held in your hands instead of on a tablet. But, your opinion might differ.

Good luck with the course.
