How to make i3 feel more like a desktop environment?

i once was concerned about this too. i made a long list of features with taskwarrior that i wanted to add to the experience. then i just started figuring out how to add them one by one. finally i had built a script that would do everything necessary to make i3 feel at home. if i were a big meanie and a bully id tell you to do all the work yourself but since im nice ill post the script here for you. just paste it to the command line.

Install thunar for a file manager, use i3blocks or lemonbar to customize the bar a bit more to your liking, and use floating mode more. All that will make it feel more like a traditional window manager while keeping the low footprint.

i3-gaps also makes it a little more comfy.
