Linux Dual Boot Masterrace General (LDBMG)
In this general we talk about dual booting any os with linux. Dual booting has it adventages because there's better driver support and you have more software. Dual booting with windows is easy.
Shrink the disk volume > Burn USB with your distro > Choose the option where you can install linux alongside windows.

I recommend using GParted for windows or the GParted Live CD.
Also remember to defragment your windows before partition because windows get a lot junk and like this you get more space.
I will proceed to emphasize on the fact that most things you do on linux, you can do on Windows, so most people who effectively dual boot end up using Windows.

Dual boot on a netbook, Windows 7 Lite Ultimate and Ubuntu minimal with Openbox, surprisely web browsers are faster, lighter and usable on Windows than Chromium and FF on Ubuntu, just boot to Ubuntu to watch movies with MPlayer
