Honestly I have owned Steinhart that had to go back twice. I own 3 Seiko's two 7S26 and one 4R36. 2/3 is over a decade old without maintenance, one j just bought all 3 is +/-6 sec a day or below. The Steinhart would just randomly stop. If SHTF happens I would probably leave the Steinhart behind.

Going to an estate auction, and rumors has it this man was a collector. Another rumor was it that he disowned both his son and daughter, so they aren't getting shit. According to people behind this auction the proceeds are all going to a church.

Anyways, his collection is pretty fucking impressive. Pic related is one of the least expensive in his collection. From what I've seen from pictures posted by his lawyer its pristine. How much should I be bidding /g/? So far I have $3k cash but I don't know if that might be enough, should I invest more cash?

This is Bel Air, so everyone knows he has a nice collection. Fuck we have people fly in from NYC and Atlanta. I am there because I know a collector and he's taking me with him. I am hoping the people flying in wouldn't be interested in this lowly Rolex, they probably have eyes on Vintage Patek Philippes or Audemars. There's a few more Rolex's but I think this is his cheapest one. The collector I am going with told me that I should bid on the Presidential though because he messed it up adding a diamond bezel, and I could sell the bezel and replace it with a stock Rolex however the value already went to shit when he did that.

Found a used watch I want from a seemingly reputable German seller on Chrono24 for $1000 cheaper than new.

The watch is in mint condition according to him, and I see no major scratches.

The watch was produced in 2003, but I don't know if it's been serviced or not .

It's a midrange ETA movement. Chronograph and date.

If it's not and it needs servicing, should I still get it?

The fact that it's so much cheaper concerns me.

This is the current extent of my watch collection. I work with radioactive material and high voltage supplies, so I just have stuff that can be easily replaced if damaged/contaminated.
