I sure hope /g/ is the right place to ask this, but I don't honestly trust big box store websites to recommend electronics.
Here's my dilemma;
I'm going off to college, and I need a laptop. I've been looking at the Dell Inspiron 15.6" Touch Screen (because my budget is $600 and I'd prefer to save a bit of it), but I don't know shit about laptops. Will this be adequate for college life? I generally just listen to music on foobar2k and use steam for a few games, but other than taking notes and doing research I don't have many other uses for it.
I plan on purchasing a Lenovo t420 later just to mess around with.

Don't fuck with consumer laptop lines if you can afford it. The inspiron line is trash. Look at the latitude XPS or precision (but precision line is pushing it since it is a work station.)
