yep
Now my vita is blinking orange , i think its because its not a good cable i am using.
I heard a thing called honey brew , should i use it?
I mostly play niche exclusives that come out, or ps now.
there are a fuckton of ps now games and the ones I have played so far have little input lag so it's actually enjoyable. unfortunately it isn't as lag-free as the shield tablet but it is still good.
i took mine out of the closet about a week ago. also an older version like OP. charged it up and played around for a bit. forgot i never bought a memory card for it, so its not really that great for gaming.
I'm going to order one of those gamepad cases with conductive triggers for the back touch pad and use it for ps4 remote play.

no. leave it charging. When the vita is flat batt, it will need to charge for 20 minutes before you can turn it on. The light will revert to blue again.

Look up in the archives for someone working on reverse engineering steam streaming. He has a github repo and the work is in Java, but I don't think it's been updated in ages. It would be pretty awesome to have both steam and ps4 streaming on the vita.
