Hey /g/,

My computer has been making this really annoying vibration jiggling sound. It sounds like an abrasive ticking sound, which I first assumed that was coming from the fans.

So I cleaned out all fans in computers. Cleaned out the cooler and its fan, cleaned out my video card and its fan, and even cleaned out all of the case fans. However, the noise still persisted after I cleaned everything out.

I have this issue for about two years now, with the noise subsiding every few months or so. I am beginning to suspect it might be my case. What do you guys think?

Pic related, it is the case I have.

It could be you hard drive. HDDs are mechanical so the mechanisms inside the drive could be at fault

If you don't have any SSDs, treat yourself and whilst you're not using your HDDs if the sound goes away that's the solution right there.

sure there isn't a wire touching one of the fans?

Determine where the noise is coming from. Could be shot fan bearings. If you use cheapo sleeve bearing fans, the bearing dries up and then it starts rattling.

Having worked on computers with those cases before those cases are chink shit tier so it could be the cheap plastic front vibrating from tge case fans

I have a matx board in that case and it runs fine.

OP here.

This was the answer I'm looking for. The more I examine the noise, the more you're right. I may have to replace all fans (except the video card's) to get any results.

To the other people who chimed in: thanks for the suggestion but it is not my HDD's. I should have said rattling in the first place, instead of ticking, because there is no way in hell HDD's could make such loud rattling noises.

I am considering getting a new case anyways because CM makes chinkshit tier cases. But thank you anon for your insight.
