I've always liked the minimally designed cases, but not sure if this is overpriced or not for the design.

I still feel like fractual design makes the best cases. Simple, non gamer shit design with quality of life features and reasonable pricing.

I've seen a few Corsair 540 Airs for the first time recently, are they as good as they seem to be?

Looks like good airflow and good management of the cables and hardware.

Maybe a bit louder, but you can always get some quality fans right?

biggest fucking regret ever edition

sugo sg11b, 0/10, the fan it comes with is shit and vibrates making an awful noise, the idea of putting a full atx PSU right over the heatsink is a terrible idea because even if i had more than a few mm of space, im sure airflow would still be dead as shit
vents on all sides but the base and front != better temps or airflow, it just means directional airflow goes out the window since there is no way for air to be baffled, it just goes in one side and radiates out the other sides
honestly, im 10c hotter in every way. and the fan is pissing me off so fucking much its not even funny, i dont have a spare 120mm fan lying around right now, and switching it out requires removing the entire HDD caddy, 5.25" bay, and then changing the fan and putting it all back together again
ive debated unplugging it since all it does is cool my single ssd anyway
>>
>>55958912
not to mention getting this thing apart and putting it together again is an absolute bitch to pull off, the sides and top are one piece and its not reinforced aluminum plate, its nearly impossible to get it together correctly without random shoving and pulling every which way, the angled bit over the pci slots actually comes loose when you take the pci slot screws out and was a nasty surprise when the entire thing fell on my motherboard when i went to install my 750ti
my psu fan is also clicking now too, or maybe its the gpu that use to be horizontal

seriously debating just putting everything back in the thinkcenter and returning this bullshit

pic also related, bullshit captcha
>>
Define r4 windowless is just god-tier
>>
>>55956464
They're awesome as long as you don't have many 3.5" drives.

Honestly mass storage should probably be in a NAS anyway, so it's not an issue for me .
>>
>>55958912
>>55958978
return that case, get meme'd into a different case

i almost got meme'd into getting a CM elite 130
i'm debating which case to get, i'll probably end up getting the nano s just so i can use a decent air cooler if i want or throw in some 25mm thick rads and a pwm ddc and 2 block and forget about upgrading for a few years

i almost keep getting meme'd into the sfx sff cases, but those fucking sfx psu's can get fucking loud under load

and i already got meme'd into itx(not that big a deal, nice and small, but general bullshit aside, now having to worry about coolers clearing motherboard vrm heatsinks is retarded, it's not worth the hassle to return the itx board, it works decently enough, it'll do everything i want it to, i'm never going to install more than one video card at a time anyways, or use more than 2 sticks of ram, seeing as that gives me up to 32GB of ram, and with 4TB drives being as cheap as they are big whoop only having 4 sata ports

the overall quality of the board i got is decent, past some of the aesthetics of the color scheme of the board or the obnoxious standby red led that you can't disable, not a huge problem since i won't be using a windowed case any fucking ways, the only other annoying thing is it made me realize 2 things how loud my old computer was, and that i need to either lube my cpu cooler and the rear i/o fans or replace them

and that i need to learn how to overclock skylake
>>
>>55959170
i disabled the hdd caddy 120mm fan and switched out the psu fan with one from my old 25$ chinkshit one
now its quieter, the gpu is definitely making noise now that its vertical, but its not nearly as loud as the other 120mm fans were
so problem solved for now, but i think the slow chinkshit fan may cause psu temperature problems
desu i dont give a fuck anymore, if this pc toasts itself i have a reason to buy something much better than a cx540m, 16gb ddr3. pentium g3260 and 750ti on a biostar h81 mobo

also never go sfx, i had a friend who had some kind of fetish for them and the guy's room would be hotter than the surface of the sun when playing gta

how much rad, and what formfactor, atx, matx or itx?, and how small are we taking?
atx, the define s, the evolv, and i think something in the h series from nzxt
matx, the only thing that comes close is the arc mini r2, but that has the 360 in the top not the front
itx, i don't know why you'd even want more than a 360 with an itx build

>>55959372
*cough*core 500*cough*

it's easy enough to find parts that fit, and can take a small 240 rad loop if you're retarded enough to want to watercool most itx build that run quieter with fans, than with fans and a pump, at that point just go external go full meme and put the rads as far away as you can and have a small quiet pump in the case and a nice pump outside where the rads are

i can't think of another itx case that takes decent sized coolers 140mm+ tall, while taking 300-290mm long video cards, and 160mm long atx psus
if you know of one that isn't huge as fuck i'd love to see it
>>
>>55959455
oh right forgot, around 180€
>>
>>55956464

Bought at 540 for my first custom, case is sick for a clean aesthetic, you can jam all the cables into the back and there's rubber grommets all around the motherboard.
Premium airflow for everything in the case, and a big window to see all your hardware. If you want to see it clearly, get a magnetic led strip, the case is pretty dark.
The fans that come with are wayyyy more quiet than you would imagine, so even if you're not used to air cooling noise it isn't bad at all. Was going to get some silent wings but I never bothered because it was quiet enough as is.

100% recommend buying custom air filters, there's a shit ton of holes in the case and all that airflow generates an extraordinary amount dust. $40 investment and you don't have to clean as much, super worth.

NZXT Noctis 450, same chassis as the H440, different panels and no sound dampening material but better airflow and temperatures.

If you want 6 mechanical hard drivers plus 2 SSD and live in hell where at 6AM the temperature is 34ºC then this is the case for you, 4 included fans with PWM fan hub.

I don't there are many cases that can fit so many hard drivers plus dual 120mm radiators.

>>
>>55960646
Dual chamber is just wasted space unless you use it for watercooling. Even conventional mATX towers are smaller than the Node 804. More creatively laid out mATX cases are even smaller.
Raijintek STYX is 60% of the size
Silverstonie SG09 is 55% of the size
>>
>>55960853
I'm not after the tiniest thing, but after using a corsair 650D for a while I want something smaller. I'm a fan of the dual chamber design but I can see your point, it's a small thing for me not a deal breaker.

I've heard mixed things about the Sg09. The Raijintek STYX looks nice though. Also considering the SG10, and maybe even the ISK600M

Where do you live where it's 34ºc @ 06:00???

I have huge problems selecting a case right now.
My absolute main concern is SILENCE
Second is design, it needs to not look like a fucking 12 year olds toy.

>I'm limited to ATX
>Strictly air-cooled, no radiators needed
>Don't need 5.25s

The H440 and H630 looks pretty good visually, but there's no white windowless 440, and i think the 630 is going to be way too big for my needs.

There's also the question of airflow. Some argue that brute-forcing with one or more 200mm fans is a good way to make components generally run colder, and thereby lower the overall noise level compared to simply 2 or 3 120mm/140mm for case ventilation.
If this is true the 630 might be a good choice.

What the fuck do i do?

I autistically decided that the only way to cool dual r9 290 house fires was a custom loop going through a quad radiator. Didn't really plan things through, and that didn't leave me with many case options. Decided on a phanteks enthoo primo, and everything fits comfortably at least. Didn't enjoy spending so much though.

I've seen a build that had three 290Xs in Crossfire on a i7-4960X build. It had two 360mm radiators for the GPUs alone and a 280mm radiator on a separate loop for the CPU, chipset, and memory. I'd love to know if what the temperatures were like.
>>
>>55965135
Sitting next to one, i only hear it when the gpu fires up under load. Around 1200+ rpms
If you are water cooling you should only just hear the pump.
>>
>>55965816
I'm sure that's overkill, the 290s don't go over 70C. Also since the corsair AIO coolers cost the same as a decent CPU block, I got one of those instead of adding more heat to my loop.

I remember that both 360mm radiators were stacked on top of each other on a make-shift frame, 120mm Gentle Typhoons on both sides of those radiators, and two larger 200mm fans blowing air in front of those radiators in a shroud taken from a truck. The entire build was an open-air one, so all the parts were just lying around on a bench. I bet that the GPU temps never exceeded 60 degrees on that loop

For air cooling it's fine but you should add a fan to the bottom of the case, if you get a hybrid cooler for the gpu, it's a great case. going full blown water cooling the only cases that beat it are either more expensive or huge, or you need to design it and build it yourself
