Was able to speed things up. doing 10k of songs (58GB) at about 12 MBs... Still way too slow. But we're down to an hour and a halfish

It's going so slow due to the number of files. For Linux the more files in a transfer the slower it goes based on your processing power. Smartphones aren't good at things like this. It would far faster to directly put the card directly into a computer if possible. This is all assuming you didn't buy a shit card.
