Because I posted it right before a new thread, reposting

I need a secondary LTE phone to use as a portable shitposting machine (Heavy web browsing, YT, 4chan,...), music player and most of the time being a hotspot for around 100 Euro. I don't care if it's used or not.

Only places I can use since I'm a Slavshit where Amazon nor eBay ships to

English version of the eshop in my country: https://www.alzashop.com/sim-free-mobile-phones/18843445.htm

used stuff where I can only buy from since nothing else like that exists in my country:

Why not order from Aliexpress? I'm sure they send to Slovakia too.
100 euro is just enough for Redmi 3s 2/16 that has an excellent battery.

Looking for a chinkphone for Tmobile US, preferably with as many frequencies as possible with 4g LTE, currently have a Galaxy s4 that is heating up to much and fragging my fucking sim card. Add another $20 and you can end up with a high end model with full LTE compatibility:

Otherwise, several anons confirmed that the RN3P works on t-mobile H+ (but probably no LTE).

My Moto G 1st Gen from 2013 is aging. Is there a chinkshit that is as simple to root as a Motorola?
>>
>>55952054
Redmi 2 / Note 2.

Newer Xiaomi phones are better, but I guess you will need to send a shitty bootloader unlock request to get root. Feasible but annoying.

Most of the other chink brands actually also usually had easy ways to root, but IDK about what other brands I'd get right now. I guess I'd get Xiaomeme again.
>>
>>55952195
Thanks, anon. Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 looks sweet, bootloader unlock sounds annoying. I rely too much on Xposed and AdAway to think of giving it up ;_; I'll also look at the newer Moto G's.

Thanks! I don't have Prime, but my roommate does and he'll let me use his account. I'll definitely pick up the 16GB version for $60. It has a lower pixel density than my current phone, but in every other way it totally trumps it.

At the same price, the Moto X Pure might be a little better.

But it costs like 50% more (or comes with a contract that costs more than that), doesn't it?

i had one for a few days

typing on it was driving me fucking crazy. i have thick fingers though. i love bigger phones just so i can text and shit.

performance is bonkers though, no lag and everything works perfectly.

also the screen is the same screen from iphone 5, so that's 5 year old technology. not impressive. everyone bitches about the front camera but that's not a deal at all imo, fuck selfies anyways. the back camera is great

all in all it's okay, maybe a little overpriced but can't argue with the performance in the price range at all. it would drive me crazy though because i'm so used to swiping instead of touching each letter for text input, and i like google shit more than apple shit. it's worth it if none of that matters to you and you're okay with the worst possible screen in a phone costing more than $75 dollars

Grandma is relatively happy with her typical no name chink ceramic knifes, but she doesn't have high standards.

I found the and the damascene steel imitation knifes to be pretty lackluster.

Would I regret going chink over a Nexus?
>>
>>55954839
Well, I only tried four pieces / sets of Chink kitchen knifes.

But it is a difference to the >10 variants of Victorinox/Swiss and Jap cooking knifes plus around six Solingen/Germany ones, which were *all* good to great.

As for other sauces for Jap knifes - japanesechefsknife and the actual Amazon.jp also have a bunch of good options.
>>
>>55954922
It should be $180-ish, not 180Eur ... unless it includes some import service that won't be taxed further?

And I can't see why you'd regret it. Unless you regret not upgrading every time a phone with a better camera comes out.
>>
>>55955051
I am having it shipped to Italy so maybe it varies from country to country,

Nah I am not the type of person that changes a phone every 6 months, I had my nexus 4 for 3.5+ years.

It's just that since there is no way for me to physically see the phone I don't know if it has a significant deal beaker or shortcoming.

For 1/3 of the price of a nexus and 4000mAh battery is very tempting

How is Xiaomi with updates? Is MIUI a good skin or it's better to just flash cm13?
>>
>>55955124
>I am having it shipped to Italy so maybe it varies from country to country,
Nah, that's the cost for typical global chink shipping. You are probably just looking in a place where it costs more than aliexpress or such.

> How is Xiaomi with updates? Is MIUI a good skin or it's better to just flash cm13?
MIUI is fine if you ask me. Good set of features, and it gets lots of updates. I prefer it over Cyanogen.

But on various Xiaomi phones, the Android version ended up being stuck near the release version - it's independent from the MIUI updates.

That might then be a reason to use CWM or a derivative. Or perhaps an interest in tweaking more stuff is. Myself, I always preferred MIUI anyhow.
>>
Which phone would be a good upgrade for an S4? It's getting more issues with sd card and sim card reading and i could use a new phone.

It's still inferior to a 1440p phone display, you can easily tell the difference despite the memes going around.

Anyway it sounds like you're too poor to get an S7 active so consider getting an Axon 7, it's $400 but has a snapdragon 820 and a 1440p screen.

Right now I'm looking into the LG V10. I handled the G3 for 2 weeks, and really liked the screen/camera/software. From what i can tell, the V10 is an improved version for around 300-400 bucks. Good buy or nah?

Any other reccs? Chinkphones have only 3GB of RAM, and I would want something more newer. The Nexus 6P looked good until I saw the no SD card slot and no removable battery. After that, DROPPED.
>>
>>55956676
That's me. I chose a 6p over the Note 4 before I knew it had no SD card slot. Now I am in regret. Why all phones don't have expandable memory is beyond me. Maybe I'll see if I can find someone with a Note that'll trade. I'll take TouchWiz with an SD slot over running out of storage.
>>
>>55956722
Yeah, truth be told I'm disappointed with the meme trend of "Android phones without SD card/removable batteries"

I can't say how many times I had to reset my phone by removing the battery. It's just so reliable and handy.

Ah well. Surprisingly, there's a ton of cheapish phones on eBay (G5 for $410 or so) that I might look into. I know, broken IMEI and all that jazz, but the reviews and creds check out

Make sure you get the old one, dont bother with the S5 Neo, it lacks the infrared sensor, fingerprint scanner, chrome edges, chrome samsung logo and the 3.0 usb port, all the Neo offers is a better frontal camera (because you are a spoiled 15 year old girl with daddy issues taking a hundred selfies every day for facebook right?) and a newer case that looks like cheap plastic.

I bought one myself two weeks ago. The battery life is unimpressive, but it does have quick charging so I guess it's not too big of a deal if you're close to an outlet. The second screen is more of a gimmick than a useful addition, as well, and you probably won't miss much just leaving it off all the time. Those are the two main things. Other than that it's a great phone. I'm enjoying it so far.

Hey /spg/ I have Rogers in Canada, currently using a Verizon Galaxy S4 but it barely works on this carrier, looks like the data network isnt compatible and I only get 3G but it cuts out frequently. I obviously need to get a new phone, just wondering what you guys typically look for? I mostly just use my phone for normie apps, texting, photos, and phone calls. I guess out of everything I'd want a nice looking interface, maybe a good/nice camera, and decent storage, any ideas immediately pop to mind or is there anything someone relatively new should know when looking to buy a wholesale phone rather then doing contracts? I want to avoid being bound to a company for 2-years at a time.

I have a Nexus 4 (2100 battery) gets the same life as my G3 (3000 battery).
S5 is so full of shit that it freezes a lot, seems ram related despite asking little of it.

Nexus 4 runs better than either of them. So honestly I have found both the G3 and S5 to be garbage. S5 at least started good, but went down hill fast. Sometimes it will do okay if its been freshly reset.

Part of what has me tempted to buy a Nexus 5x, but not sure its best for the money. I just want stock android. Axon 7 is tempted as I here it works on CDMA even though its not suppose to yet. Anyone have suggestions on this?

Yeah I'm doing a bit of digging, I guess having a replaceable battery sounds good, and a decent microSD slot but I don't think I'd be storing that much stuff. Admittedly I'm falling for the Samsung Edge gimmick but I guess having a nice screen/display, decent hardware so theres no major delay but that seems like a given for most modern smartphones, and a decent phone.

I'll look into your stuff though, I'm eyeing something sub-300$ but I don't know if thats unrealistic, the Nexus looks great, the note3 looks a bit on the larger size for my small hands though. Appreciate your feedback though my dude.

There is only one phone that has a 4.5inch screen and a removable battery that you can consider an upgrade to the phone you currently have: Samsung Galaxy S5 mini.

Also the z1 compact is already quite old, you might want to consider the z3 or z5 compact.
>>
>>55960481
Also curious on this.

I like the 5x size, but also considering 6P for the storage of the Axon 7 for the high specs and possibly better battery life? (I find stock android is good on battery but nonstock drains faster)

I wonder about HTC doing it. Their phones aren't bad, but they are unproven with the Nexus where as previous ones have been friendly to customization. HTC phones are iffy on this. And the 6P manufacture is also claiming they are making the next one.

OnePlus 3, Huawei P9+, Galaxy S7 or Xperia Z5/X?

Main requirements:
>quick updates and good support
>high quality stock software without a million bugs or instability
>sheer processing power and smoothness of the UI
>ability to root without a million hassles
>max 450€ (including used)

Secondary requirements:
>Good camera
>Good sound quality through headphones
>Quality screen (mostly talking about uniformity of the panel, no tinted whites, no uneven backlight, etc)

Right now this is what I can tell from reviews and articles.

OP3 seems to be a balanced device which doesn't excel in anything except raw power, the stock software seems to be a fucking mess though. The camera also seems bad when it comes to video recording.

Huawei P9+ seems to be an overall good device and I've heard they're quick with updates. The stock software reminds me of iOS (not a bad thing). It's very expensive though.

Galaxy S7 seems to be a good overall device but I've had issues with Samsung in the past (galaxy s4), especially when it comes to moddability and quality software. Has touchjizz improved? Honestly is too early to tell because Samsung always does a good job on release then they fuck everything up (on purpose) with later updates.

Sony is my favourite brand and I've always used Sony before other than the Galaxy S4 I mentioned above, but the Z5 and the X seem to have many little retarded issues and they're very expensive. I know for a fact that Sony is god tier when it comes to software and updates. My Z3 before niggers stole it from my car was absolutely perfect, and it wasn't even on stable firmware, I was using the marshmallow Beta which was so fucking good I'm tempted to forgive all the issues X has to get back to the Sony UI.

I'm so fucking indecisive right now, none of these devices satisfy me 100%, I'm actually tempted to buy another used Z3 until something that's basically a Z3 on steroids comes out. That device was literally perfect.

Advice on Samsung A5 depends on what price you're getting it at. I don't know what the pricing is, so if you reply with a price maybe somebody else can comment on that, or you can simply look up store price in your country and compare that to a quick aliexpress search from a vendor that can guarantee tax free import. The Gal S5 is a solid device, I don't know what the difference is with the A5. you should compare in gsmarena and report your findings.

Do you calibrate the battery of a new phone?
The first time I get a phone I let the battery drain completely and the phone to turn off.

In comparison with S7E:
More rigid build due to higher quality aluminum
Gorilla Glass 5
Improved screen (50% brighter at max, HDR compatibility)
Vastly improved UX
S-Pen
Iris scanner (a gimmick for most people)
USB-C
USB 3.1
Slightly larger screen and dimensions
100mAh smaller battery
Less curved display
Significantly better in-hand feel

It's a more premium phone. For 64GB S7E vs. Note 7 you're paying $100 or so more, but if you preorder you receive >$100 in freebies. I'd go with the SD card, personally.

check it out in a store honestly. It seemed smooth when I tried it and touchwiz is far less bloated than it once was. If everything fails, you can still root it and remove that shit (but samsung pay won't work anymore)

Definitely big factors. Exynos keeps up with an 820, though, right?

Also, can anyone comment on how the S7 feels in the hand compared to an OP3 (or any other 5.5" phone.) I don't have huge hands, so I'm kind of tempted to pay a premium for one of the few smaller options that are still high specced.

John Lewis has them for £200 which seems like a good deal and is much cheaper than most places.

Trouble is that NFC (and I guess decent storage) is an absolute necessity, which rules out most of the things that people recommend in this price range.

Hey /g/ Nexus 5x, Nexus 6P, Axon 7?

5x
Pros:
stock android (likely to run really well)
really good size

Cons:
Battery Life (hard to tell since a well done phone can really stretch a small battery)
Not sure 32gb will cut it, but I can unload pics often

Nexus 6P
Pros
stock android
64gb

Cons:
Bit too big
Perhaps not best price in its range
Concern for process heat or so I've heard

Axon 7
Pros:
Monster Specs
Good Battery Life?

Cons
Too Big
Not stock android?
Possibly less support

Tempted to do a 5x just to have something cheap and decent for now, because this G3 and S5 have to go they are rubbish despite misleading specs. On the other hand Axon seems like a beast, but could be misleading on performance since like S5 and G3 specs mean little if it runs like shit, seriously my Nexus 4 gets battery life equal to the G3. And 400 dollars compared to 270 would make me feel a bit more committed to staying with it. Wish they would remake the N4 with 64gb, a good battery/camera, and CDMA (yes im stuck with that).

Any thoughts?

I was about to go for that, it looks good until I looked at the reviews and see all these people say that the micro ends bend just by the weight of the cable.
They also have pictures..
What do you think?
>>
>>55967993
i think you shouldn't attempt to bend ANY fucking cable by the connections end. most of those people are retarded and think regularly bending their shit at 90 degree angles is a good idea. a lot of well reviews companies have people who post stupid shit like that.

now it's one thing if the reviews state micro usb side becomes loose over time and looses connection, but bending problems are people being fucking retarded.
>>
>>55967993
Been using an a tangle free braided Anker cable on my mouse for years. They are really good.

Micro usb bends easily on anything because its small and people mistreat their shit. Just like how morons break USB drives by having 10 pounds of keys hanging off them.
>>
Today is the last day of HTC's sale and they are trying REALLY hard to sell the 10. Left it in my cart and left the website, they emailed me upgrading my shipping to 2 day for free.

I'm deciding between the 10, the Axon 7, or waiting for the v20.

Pros
10 : Build quality, software (little bloatware, bootloader unlocked), protection program

Axon 7: Price, best speakers, $75 replacements

LG v20 : Best audio quality

I listen to music all day every day so that's the biggest selling point for me.

So for cons the HTC is pretty pricey and I'm having a hard time justifying it, but today is the last day it's $100 off + $100 in accessories from the HTC site. I consider this phone to be the most reliable purchase.

ZTE software is dicey and they aren't proven to have a good track record with updates, bootloader unlocking is still up in the air. Specs are great though, audio on par with HTC 10.

V20 I am guessing, for now, is as good as the v20 with certain hardware improvements. ASSUMING battery life and overheating aren't issues this time around, V20 has the best audio quality. Bootlader is eh, warranty is not as good as what HTC or Axon offers, screen size is bigger than I am used to.

So do I buy the HTC today or let it go?
>>
s7 edge, note 7 or OP3?

Somebody care to list the pro´s and cons of each phone or give their personal opinion?

>I dont favour anything so just be subjective
>>
>>55968610
N7 vs S7E: >>55965357

The OP3 only compares in performance specs, which aren't that relevant nowadays since even 2-generation old CPUs are just fine for modern apps. If you want a chinkphone it's a pretty decent choice.
>>
>>55968610
I don't trust Samsung after using the S5. The specs looking nice end up pretty meaningless in my experience because they fuck over the software far too much. And post S4 they are really trying to keep people from fixing their fuck ups with custom software.
>>
>>55968684
dude that´s the SAME thing I´m having trouble with right now.

>bought a s5
>returned it after a year (saying it was broken, got an extra insurance that covers my phone) because it was slow as hell.

Both the s7 and note 7 sound so great and I wouldnt mind having a giant screen because I love to watch videos. But i´m scared man.. scared that the perfomance will fade away again
>>
>>55968684
The N7's new UX is apparently pretty great. I wonder if it's lighter, too.

If nothing else you can always just disable all the bloatware.
>>
>>55968660
I hear alot of people still using their Note 4 or Note 5. I guess they do perform very well on the long run in comparison with the s galaxy line.
Is that assumption true?
>>
>>55968746
They are too busy trying to make Android into IOS for me to even consider using a damn thing from them now.
>>
>>55968787
Historically the Note line has been better in every way than the S line. The N7 is superior to the S7/S7e in some ways, but not every way - notably the battery is slightly smaller, and it's using the same RAM/CPU.

Still, I'd guess it'll hold up ok compared to the S7. That's pure conjecture, mind you.
>>
>>55968813
I am really torn.
I have to admit I used an iphone ever since (until the s5) and I never had problems.
I did not change phones because I had any troubles, I was just curious.
In fact Android turned out to be awesome, but Samsung was a great Disappointment.

>I wonder if I can trust them again
>Any other Android phones worth considering?
>>
>>55968790
I mean it was fine for like half a year but it soon started to get laggy.
I´ve heard that the OnePlus3 is a powerhouse and has little to no bloatware.
400 Bucks wouldnt be THAT much of a commitment instead of paying 600 or more for another "Samsung Experiment"
>>
Sorry for being stupid but I need a quick, no-bullshit /g/ opinion.

I'm moving to China in a few weeks and my mom is going to buy me a new phone. I have the choice of getting the latest Samsung Galaxy or the latest iPhone. Should I choose the iPhone 6s Plus, the S7, or the S7 Edge?
>>
>>55968781
Not always if its anything like the S5. That things locked bootloader on some models meant you could never fully remove their shit. And the tendrils of alterations went far deeper than their garbage UI. Even with annoying bloat frozen it still ran poorly for its spec. And trying to remove some of it resulted in crashes due to their other dickery.

If they have done anything similar, and I don't know maybe they haven't, but I think they have then it could forever be fucked.
>>
>>55968925
