What version of Windows does /g/ prefer?

I have been a win7 holdout but I am starting to have compatibility issues with newer versions of things like Cygwin. What should I do anon?

I jumped train for gnu/linux. I figured better now than much later.
I bought a new hdd and plugged it in and just moved on from windows.

By now Wine supports Windows programs better than Windows does, because they actually follow Microsoft's own design specifications.
