I'm a """software engineer""" working for a startup on east coast US. average cost of living city.
i've got about 2 years of experience now and i'm making $65k/year. no benefits. am i being cucked? should i find another job?

whoops forgot to mention
i'm working on their back end solely. nodejs stuff mostly. which is actually the bulk of the business logic. my manager makes $150k/year and has health insurance. it's not a poor startup really but they are trying to save money when possible.

Not bad for two years of exp in avg col loc.
Id put my resume out there just to benchmark myself. But you are doing quite well already.

That's what I thought, just making sure.. I'm passively applying to jobs (as in if they come to me i'll apply but i'm not actively looking)
Thanks for the input, anon

You are certainly making more than I did at that point. If you are permanent, try to get them pay for certs/training if there are any relevant ones.
Try to start your own initiatives/projects to generate more revenue/improve shit. That kind of concrete 'I did this and it made the company money' stuff on your resume will put you miles ahead of others.
I.e., what you do is irrelevant. What you accomplish matters.
Selfishly bumping my own thread
I've got 3 years in helldesk.
If I get my Linux+ will I be able to get a Linux jr. sysadmin gig?
I'm also considering getting my Security+ and Network+
