I implore you to try Vivaldi again, it's getting really good desu

https://vivaldi.net/en-US/teamblog/139-snapshot-1-3-551-17-further-bugfixing

Problems with other browsers:
Opera - Shit tier mouse gestures you cannot edit

Firefox - Becoming meme software before our very eyes, slow

Edge - Seems fast but really isn't once you install an addon

Chrome - Spyware

Vivaldi is very good but unfortunately falls short on two areas, the first is the UI lag which I'm afraid cant be helped as they chose a retarded implementation, the other is that they use chromium engine which is bloated compared to presto. But as it stands it is the least shit compromise avalible.
>>
>>55928951

I only have the following browser problem:

Given that Vivaldi is just another webkit/blink/whatever rehash, it will probably be as shit as all the others.

It was nice and light when it was in beta but when they released 1.0 or whatever the first stable release was a few months ago it turned to complete shit.

Does the UI still randomly stop responding to touch events? Because that's the one thing keeping me from using it. Other than that, it's a pretty decent browser.
>>
>>55930254
What the hell are touch events?
>>
I actually liked vivaldi. The only reason I switched back to chromium though was this annoying ass bug where youtube videos wouldn't properly fullscreen. If they actually fixed that I'd consider using their browser.

>mouse gestures
People use those?
>>
>>55928951
Honestly, shill OPfag aside, I'm using Vivaldi and it's alright.

Still some things I don't like, like not being able to draw tabs outside of the window to make a new window, not being able to middle-mouse click anywhere on the bar to make a new tab (I guess I got used to CTRL T by now), and the fact that if you accidentally click between the search bar and the open tabs with middle mouse, it opens up this weird maximized view of the tabs, which is useless in itself.

Other than that, it's pretty solid and has been getting better. Crashes far less than Firefox "stable", which in itself is a pretty good accomplishment for a beta browser. It's alright, try it if you're on the look for a new browser, otherwise, don't bother, it's more of the same.

>Browser that runs in a browser
bruh
>>
>>55934388
Yup, I do. That allows me to perform certain actions with mouse only, and without the need to use buttons. That's useful if you, like me, prefer to keep your left hand on your balls, rather then keyboard. I do not understand why Opera devs decided to put gestures in, but skipped customization. They are useless now. This is literally the only thing that keeps me with firefox and firegestures.
>>
>>55928951
its slower than opera

quicker in terms of new ui concepts and I liek that

but slower than opera

less versatile than firefucks

less epic than chrome which just fucks shit up

OP this is why I don't use memevaldi:
>No Android version, so no way to have my history, bookmarks and speed dial synced with it
>No integration with the System. No native notifications.
>No video pop-out function. This is, making an html5 video to show as an always-on-top pop-out window.
>No data saving feature.
>>
>>55938843
They aren’t even aiming at them because Vivaldi is closed source. No one can make useful plugins like pic related.
>>
>>55938900
>No video pop-out function

>No data saving feature.
Meme.
>>
>>55928951
Please come back when

1. it's open-source
2. it has a feature-complete pentadactyl clone
3. it has a feature-complete umatrix clone
4. it supports color management and ICCv4 profiles

without those four a browser to me is useless
>>

You can play the same game with OS' and everything else.

At the end of the day, you need to pick your compromises. Be it dealing with the shit that you mentioned, or go and fix up a browser yourself at the cost of your own time.

That's the world we live in.
>>
>>55931361
This. I would like to know that too
>>
If you're going to distribute an application free of charge, why would you make it proprietary? Just to be a dick? Because you don't want anyone to see your shitty code? Or because you have something to hide?

Nope, Windows and Windows Phone only.

>>
>>55945573
It won't be. The development already slowed down considerably compared to pre 1.1 period. I think Vivaldi is not growing as fast as investors expected it to grow. That is probably not helped by the fact that there are running from Norway which means insane salaries. I don't expect them to last much longer.

Vivaldi aims to replicate the old Opera feel, which was loaded with features and constantly kept innovating. You could adjust every detail to your liking, you could write your own buttons right in the address bar, you could move everything everywhere, and when Opera went down the shitter our niche club of Opera power users was left with nothing.

Though Vivaldi still has a long way to go. I am currently on Pale Meme until Vivaldi has grown a bit.

Problems with other browsers:

Opera - we shit on the userbase so they all left now we gonna try with this instead

Firefox - We wish we was this meme, shame it's digging it's own grave these days. We was chuffed when they copied our titlebar button

Edge - we should have based of this instead of chrome and we would be doing better right now, if only we could steal the source

Chrome - it's what we are using but we changed it a bit so hopefully nobody notices
>>
I stopped using opera a long time ago. It just got to be too much with each install. Anon mentioned the ability to sync between browsers and mobile. Well that's why I use chrome. But for regular browsing I use edge on Windows and chromium on fedora.
