I'm wondering if it's possible for me to access my iphone camera through my laptop so I can use it for surveillance. I don't wanna buy a surveillance camera if this is possible.

Yes you can. I use AirBeam. There's an app for iOS and one for OSX.
Don't know about Windows or Linux.
