Most of these "hoaxes" are names and places and history with uncitable evidence. Other concrete information on Wikipedia is still valid provided it makes logical sense in the first place.
A group of friends modified the page of a serial killer of our country, they added the name of one guy they hated (like a nickame of the serial killer). It lasted 4 years, in the meanwhile, a lot of "homework" sites and some videos quote the name because of that Wikipedia page.
It was beautiful.
