Ive been offered a job to build and repair large format 3d printers, should I leave a fortune 50 job repairing their Chinese garbage printers and move to 2016?

i don't care what you do

Sounds lucrative in theory, seeing as 3D printing is taking off in many industrial applications, and I'm not sure there are any certified experts on these things yet outside the support of the manufacturer (dogshit 99% of the time).
You should 3d print a rope and hang yourself

yea, these are like the pic. I get that the sub $1000 are shit just like anything. these guys have open platform machines which sounds good good in theory, but service wise I feel like I might be troubleshooting shit software issues. The machines price point and durability seems right on to be great just dont know much about the industry and technology.

Think about what would look better on your resume.
If you've been maintaining industrial 2D printers for 12+ months, then yes, definitely switch to 3D.

Agreed, and not being challenged anymore I guess answers my own question.
