What went wrong? Why does nobody use this distro?

>openRuse
Don't know what are you talking about. Tumbleweed is breddy good.
>>55900674
You only talk to American autists. Serious Linux developers who actually have jobs and successful lives use it, especially in Germany.
>>55900674
It is a cuck distro.
It requires password to even print something out.
You are better of with Fedora if you want an actual proper Linux experience for your daily use.
Thanks RedHat.
Tried it once, it wouldn't install on my machine and there's no point forcing it when any other distro Just Works™

Issues with codecs.
Issues with nvidia drivers.
Issues with font rendering.
Issues with repositories.
There is no reason for a desktop user to use this instead of any other distro except for yast.
>>55900686
Kek. Kind of an oxymoron.
>>55900674
I tried it once and while the whole green aesthetic was nice ootb the distro was nothing special. I don't even recall what the goal was for this one
>>55900674
I don't trust the Germans.
>>55900674
because it's kraut
Too many tools for the average user.

Versus SUSE, Fedora is a really good and simple desktop linux. Just werks while being a bit more than ubuntu, has some good backing, has some good names attached, and it's convenient enough to use.
That said I irrationally dislike fedora, it just never sits right with me when I try it, I use SUSE tumbleweed due to a bunch of the tools and such they had built in and I rather like it. No real complaints, threw it onto a decently old laptop and it worked fine, I'll probably change my general use laptop from netrunner to tumbleweed. Desktop already has tumbleweed.
100% MEME distro.
I really wanted to like/use it. but...
I have 3 monitors and a graphics tablet (I draw).
KDE5 doesn't have a menu or window to configure the tablet.
it also absolutely refused to remember my desktop settings, wallpapers, panel placements.
in the end I went back to mint cinnamon and it just fucking works. but it's ugly.
leap 42.1 on my server and laptop... mostly just werks
aka a decent amount of fucking around to get things working but no more then debian 8 and nothing too difficult
Debian is better.
>>55900674
It's used by a lot of people.
>>55901871
As you're stuck in the past, you might as well adopt all the opinions Torvalds had in the beginning of his kernel development so you have a larger repertoire of outdated views you can ape.
>>55901968
Funny how it works for many users with no issues. I'm calling PEBKAC on you. Your list sounds like that of a butthurt noob forming permaopinions based on nothing but one's own rage and then pretending those permaopinions are the result of careful evaluation.
>>55900674
OpenSUSE has that same institutional attitude that debian does, but not as many packages. Both use systemd. Since Debian exists, there is no reason for OpenSUSE
Absolutely nothing.
Is the only distro that you should use.
Distros like that make Linux a thing.
>>55900674
It's okay I just prefer others.
I think it's a perfectly fine distro. It's better than Linux Mint. I don't use them because they don't fit my software preferences.
>debian
-solid distro
-faggot tier attitude towards proprietary software/firmware
-outdated packages
-very popular so lots of help available
>fedora
-literal shit tier distro, nothing works, basic as hell, might as well just install fucking centos
>opensnooze
-solid distro
-faggot tier attitude towards proprietary software/firmware
-only distro thats gotten KDE5 nigger desktop environment to work acceptably
-yast is cool
pick your poison

>Funny how it works for many users with no issues
opensuse and 'no issues' can't go in the same sentence. Sure it works for many users, exactly the 15 users in the entire world using opensuse on a desktop are happy, but the other 2.000.000 are using something else.
> I'm calling PEBKAC on you
I have no clue what this means, I'm not an english speaker but sound rude.
>sounds like that of a butthurt noob forming permblablablabla...
It sound like someone who is an oldfag tired of having to deal with fixing broken so basic stuff in 2016. Opensuse is a hundred years behind ubuntu or arch for a desktop machine.
>>55905256
not the other guy but
>PEBKAC
Problem exists between keyboard and chair, first saw that used on anandtech years ago.
>opensuse behind ubuntu and arch for desktop
Now I know you're trolling, you should've said mint and debian.
>>55900674
It's a buggy mess.
>>55901968
>Issues with codecs.
yes
>Issues with nvidia drivers.
I haven't had any, but maybe you are right
>Issues with font rendering.
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/namtrac:/subpixel/
>Issues with repositories.
no
>There is no reason for a desktop user to use this instead of any other distro except for yast.
There is no reason for a desktop user to use something else than openSUSE
>>55900674
>nobody
...only the entire German government.
OpenSUSE is the first distro I've tried that didn't manage to annoy the fuck out of me within 12 hours of installing it.
It has a great implementation of KDE.
