When will any other relevant manufacturer other than Samshit do this right?
>>
>>55898188
There's nothing wrong with the samsung buttons on the bottom

Are you dense? That's my point.
Other manufacturers waste both screen space and bezel space with virtual buttons while making the phone itself unnecessarily big.
>>
>>55898455
Blame google for "muh soft keys dont break".
>>
>>55898482
Has anyone ever had their hardware keys break?
>>
>>55898482
So doesn't capacitive hardware buttons either, they can make the homescreen button capacitive too I don't care. (not an argument)
>>
>>55898503
I really don't know but it can happen, since they are psychical and pressing them like a madman very hard can break them.
>>
>>55898503
It's common with iphones

>device has bottom bezel
>don't make use of the space
>put soft keys on the screen instead

Top notch idea. The home, back, and context/menu button should all be hardware buttons like the Galaxy Active line.
>>
>>55898188
Oneplus 3?
>>
>Samsung still putting the Back button on the right
>it's like the most ridiculous layout ever
>it belongs on the left
>putting it to the right of the Home button basically gives the impression that it's reminding you to push the button to the left
>stupid fucking people will be the death of us all

>from left to right: best design, okayish design, bad design
Most manufacturers choose "bad design" because of laziness and because it's the cheapest solution.
>>
I'm still waiting for a tactile center button, but yeah, that's one of the few things Samsung got fucking right.

Make the home button a fingerprint reader or/and a touchpad so you can scroll easily and you've got a deal.
>>
>>55899494
The "home" button is a touchpad, you can scroll with it an even use like a thinkpad clit. Makes browsing awesome.
>>
>>55899518
Oh, it is? I haven't played around with a blackberry phone since the trackball days.

I might buy a blackberry soon, their hardware isn't half bad, and is of decent quality.
>>
>>55898518
It was on the iPhone 4 and 5. After they started using TouchID it became very rare. Same with samsung. This is not an excuse.
>>
>>55899518
How does that work?
I had an old blackberry with the trackball some years ago. That was alright except the software back then was terrible.

I feel like Blackberry is the AMD of phones. They had some great ideas, and I wanted them to do well, but they just fucked everything up.
>>
>>55898550
>this is the only decent android phone with 3 hardware buttons

what went wrong?
>>
>>55898188
>one real and two capacitive buttons
Samsung's not getting it right either, they're just doing better than everyone else with their onscreen bullshit
>>
>>55899605
>I feel like Blackberry is the AMD of phones
Sort of. A more accurate comparison would be BlackBerry is like the Intel of phones quality-wise but the VIA of phones sales-wise. They're the best of the best but also have the lowest marketshare
>>
>>55899609
At least they're still making them. The S7 Active has a pretty big battery too, 4000mah I think. If they released a rugged Note it would probably be game over for all other high end phones and small tablets.
>>
>>55898455
Just set the virtual buttons to toggle.
>>
>>55898503
The home button to my Galaxy Core Prime is fucked. Have to use assistance menu which looks ugly as fuck and gets in the way.

Meizu phones do. For some reason the last one has a capacitive - not tactile - button which is dumb as fuck but oh well.

Speakling of trackballs, I also have a spare BlackBerry 8300 at home, but with a broken trackball that can only scroll sideways so I can't navigate it well. It's on an older firmware version as well.

I'm not american and I can't find any replacement trackballs, what should I do? I want to play around with it.
>>
>>55898188

Well you kinda swipe with your finger over it, it's hard to explain you have to use it to "understand" it. It's a cool feature either way.

Since when?
Back/End Call has always been on the right.
>>
>>55899802
play brickbreaker or whatever it's called since you only need to move sideways
>>
>>55898188
I thought all smartphones used to do this, until normies decided having buttons on the touchscreen was a technological advancement.
>>
>>55900541
That's the point, Samsung's basically the only one that doesn't put out unusable shit
>>
>>55898188
Yes, I love having to reach to the very bottom end of my phone with my thumb risking dropping the phone because the entire top half has no support besides the tip of my index finger

Software buttons are just fine, they autohide when they need to (provided the application is not programmed by indians), stop making a big deal out of nothing.
>>
>>55900579
Not everyone have stubby short fingers and thumbs, anon.
>>
>>55899714
Are you retarded ? If the phone is rooted you can easily enable the soft keys via the build.prop file . I sometimes enable it on my samsung tablet.
>>
>>55900649
It is uncomfortable and very risky having physical buttons that low especially with the gargantuan size of phones nowadays.

I'm not against physical buttons but 6"phones. I would love to have a compact phone with physical buttons but such phone doesn't exist.

for some reason, enabling softkeys makes the phone sluggish slow.

Nexus 6 has the best onscreen button placement. Too bad the phone was huge. Anything else is literally unusable.

>>55901142
Yeah I know, but as with Verizon phones, you'd have to kill to me use a phone that uses either of those logos. Also current gen Exynos > Snapdragon. I can wait for the International Note 7 to drop in price in a year.
>>
>>55901003
try supporting the bottom of your phone with your pinky
>>
>>55901191
I would be fine with on-screen buttons if there was no bottom bezel at all like in >>55898793 but until then, yyyyuck, waste of space
