Since i start to test Distro, i fall in love with debian but for a beginner it's was hell of fucking hard to setup.
Ubuntu is like the best of both world but holyshit Unity is garbage.

Install Ubuntu Mate
I run ubuntu mate with kwin at the moment. It is really good.
Install Ubuntu Gentoo.

Why not directly KDE anon?
I've used lxde with kwin some time ago but using directly KDE is more practical.
Is it stable?

Screen tearing. And yes, i got compton - it jst made movies play with 15fps.

Watch this video with another computer or tablet while you set up Debian:

Once you're done, here's configuration and installing fonts, non-free software etc:

You'll be up and running in under an hour. And yes, Unity is garbage.

What the shit? Debian is one of the easiest distros to install
>Ubuntu is like the best of both world but holyshit Unity is garbage.
“apt remove unity; apt install de-of-your-choice”
wow so hard

yea, i think ill stay with unity

HAHAHAHAHAHA
It's one of the buggiest DEs and most prone to locking itself up out of all the DEs I've used
in b4 hardware, I can confirm this across literally 5 different machines I've tested unity on. It loves to crash, lock itself up, or become stuck in modes. It has an especially hard time dealing with multiple monitors
Heck, it still uses compiz which has been dead for ages, simply because unity devs don't care enough about switching to a modern compositor like compton. This in itself is like 50% of its problems right there...
Is Ubuntu still relevant nowadays?
>>55880745
Yes, it's very relevant. It's one of the most popular distros of all-time, especially on servers - where I think it might have even replaced RHEL/CentOS as the #1 most-installed server distro.
>>55880745
not on the desktop no.

I'm sure installing arch was a big accomplishment for you, kiddo
