So my good old 1080p monitor is finally dying, Its time for a new one.
What meme should i fall for? Im really feeling 4k gsync, but im not against a solid 1440p screen.
Any good sales /g/oys? im looking to spend ~$450 but less is always nice.
1440p IPS with 144/165hz and G-sync/Freesync is the best meme to fall for. 4k is nice and all but limited to 60hz

4K free-sync IPS is $450

Only other option is 1440p 144hz IPS at $571 for free-sync

Basically, shoulda gone AMD, you can buy 2 4k displays for the price of a single 4k G-sync display

i got my 980ti for 300$ 8 months ago so I dont really regret going novidia, but you're right those shits are expensive as balls. I might just end up getting some korean monitor to hold me over and say fuck it to gsync.

Mostly games? 1440p@144Hz is beautiful.
Mostly not games, or only casual games? 4K is awesome.
>G-sync?
Meh.

got a suggestion for actually calibrated panels, from a manufacturer that doesn't let dead pixels through qa?
>>55875296
>actually calibrated panels
Thought you only had $450
Also any non korean display maker shouldn't have dead pixels or major issues
>>55875249
The 4k korean displays aren't much cheaper than the lg one there
just go to tek syndicate, wendell reviewed a shit ton of giant 4k displays, mostly look for the crossover ones if you want a small display

Not at a moment's notice, no. Would need to research first! Try TFTCentral, they are excellent! For gaming screens, try 144hzmonitors.

Sorry, I'm not the original poster. I just figured I'd piggyback off the topic while it was up, but should have made that clearer.
>>55875356
Cheers anyway. I'll go visit TFTCentral; got an Ultrasharp here with decent color reproduction but a single dead pixel which is not RMA-qualifying and drives me insane

Shouldn't this cover it?
>>55875424
Nope. I don't know if I'm using nomenclature incorrectly, but I call the bright pixels they mention "stuck" and dark ones (which is what I have) "dead". They don't cover those unless there are more than 5 (if I recall right). And I'm not really willing to RMA and risk getting one with more defects, so I'm planning to sell this off and buy something else instead.

I would have suggested you call up Dell's support centre and confirm if "dead pixel" and "bright pixel" are the same when it comes to RMAs.
Best of luck getting a good price when selling your screen, anon.

Fall for the 144hz meme if you play games regularly at all
