Outside of math and hard sciences that's possibly true to some extent, but in those subjects a double digit IQ essentially restricts comprehension to a minimal level. You really cannot find any engineers, mathematicians, or PhD physicists with less than 115 IQ and below 130 in those fields is fairly uncommon.

I don't have a degree. I worked for a regular Walmart out of highschool and worked my way up to the distribution center over six or seven years. Most of that was part-time though, I cut grass and did handywork for my apartment complex when money was tight.

I was thinking about getting a job or starting my own bussiness in tech consulting for businesses, but right now I'm working in trades (basically a mix between carpentry, roofing and iron/cladding work) and making like twice as much as I would be if I would have gone with option A. Its hard work, but clearing $1300-$1500/week (with only 1 year of experience at this job) is so much better than the $500-$700ish I'd probably be getting otherwise. I was tested a year ago as part of a study for a psych medication, I got 139.

I'm a NEET. I'm damned good at taking tests and solving canned problems, which means I excelled in university. But then I failed to enter the workforce because no hiring manager cares about tests or canned problems, they care about real-world experience, how you get along with people, and your initiative and ability to figure things out without being closely supervised. I just sort of fell into it. I am literally just a generic, run of the mill Linux Sysadmin. I wouldn't say I am special, but there is so many startups (most of my clients) that just do not want to touch Linux with a 10 foot pole so they hire me instead.
