>>
>>55867257

On an imageboard that discusses technology and not 24/7 consumer electronics shilling?

On actual topic, the problem with the whole intermediate based rendering to tile based rendering is that whatever "secret sauce" algorithms/code in the drivers that's doing the conversion must not be perfect or very good and probably would explain why there has been artifacting problems on Maxwell and Pascal. I'm guessing there's probably also stuff in GameWorks as well which works well with tile-based rendering and is why they are pushing developers to use it.
>>
Intel also uses that

Now if AMD is smart they reverse engineer this shit (which they should have done along time ago)

If you were smart you wouldn't make such a retarded post.
>>
>>55867089
I wish AMD actually used 3 different performance VRAM speed options, rather than 2. I just down clock my VRAM to a slower speed, and my 390 idles about 12-15 watts.
>>
Whatever Nvidia did with 970 is some next level workaround coding. Can't force mine to use more than 3.5 gigs of vram in GTA 5, Lords of the Fallen uses it but it seems like the last 512 partition is dedicated to some low priority lod rendering cuz I honestly can't see a performance drop. It's hard to tell anyway cuz slapping something like 8x msaa to force your card into using 4 gigs of vram butchers frames on every GPU.
>>
>>55869416
>Can't force mine to use more than 3.5 gigs of vram in GTA 5
I sit between 3.6gb and 3.8gb with my settings. No performance hit that I can tell
>>
>>55869438
sometimes when you die and teleport to hospital, memory bus usage hits the ceiling and framerate drops
but maybe they fixed that in new drivers or gta update
>>
>>55869438
Ultra setting, 2x msaa, extended shadows and rendering distance set to maximum - game says it might use up to 3.8 gigs of vram but in reality it's 3.4. don't know how to bump it without upscaling to 4k or touching msaa since both options butcher everything that isn't 1080

>>
>>55872255
The extra 0.5GB of RAM doesn't run at the same speed as the rest of the 3.5GB but the entire 4GB was marketed the same, which is false advertising.

If you bought a computer that claimed to have 16GB of DDR4-2400 but really had 8GB of DDR4-2400 and 8GB of DDR4-1600 would you say that was acceptable because it was still 16GB of RAM and half of it was running at advertised speed?

It's basically the same thing, a portion of the VRAM on the 970 was handicapped.

120hz monitors are fine, it's only weird shit that's not a multiple of 60 that nvidia cards freak out on like 144 or 165hz. Also, it's only on specific drivers which is really weird. Cards idle fine with 144hz monitors on some drivers but they keep fixing and breaking it every other week.

if vega is double what a polaris has, without the 5-14% they leave on the table to multi gpu or crossfire, then yea, it will beat out a 1080, especially in apis that can feed it, will most likely be behind in dx11 though.

and no, 1200$ for a titan x, or what nvidia fanboys are hoping for 900$ for a 1080ti is fucking retarded.

you can keep your 'fastest gpu available' title, ill stick to reasonable 200-300 is mid range and 400-700 is the high end cap before you go into pro cards.

the fury, till nvidia got wind and put the 980ti out would have been the card to go in between a 980 and a titan, they had what, a range of 550-1100 to play with? why do you think nvidia put the 980ti out for 650? if amd priced the furyx at 800$ why, knowing the jew shit nvidia does constantly, would they put the 980ti out for less than 800?

amd had the ability to dictate the price of a fury x, and they chose 650 when they could have put it as high as 1000 and still would have been justified.
