Sup /g/,
How did you prepare for your A+? I know it's just a basic cert that everyone and their grandma on /g/ probably has but I'm looking to refine my knowledge and figured you guys might have some good resources.
Also, what can I expect job wise? I kind of fell into IT after not really having any idea what to do for a living and my expectations are low.
Look up professor messers a+ training. It's really the only guide out there that focuses on the 900 exams. A+ will get you desktop support and help desk jobs, not much else. It's a start.

This, you're better off getting CCENT and CCNA later on for those cushy network admin jobs.
Not OP, but does anyone care about CompTIA at all? Networking+ or Server+ worth anything?

I find professor messer to be exceptionally dull unfortunately. But yeah, help desk is just about what I was thinking... It is indeed just a start.

>A+ is worth nothing
Don't believe this meme. A lot of employers, depending on where you are and what exact job you're looking for, require it for warranty shit.

DoD requires Security+ to work any IT job. That's all I know.

So long as it gets me started it'll have been worth it.
