One of my friends refuses to get mobile internet, and has a number of free sms' per month. I'd like to point out that getting a monthly plan with internet is probably comparable/cheaper but I don't want to be a pushy asshole. So whenever they don't have free wifi (admittedly 80% of the time) then we use sms

Are we just infested by shills or BRs? I have legitimately never seen anybody in the real world using whatsapp.

I use an app called 8sms. LG can't into good apps and I noticed group texts were failing so I jumped back to it. It's based on stock, and I prefer the UI of it and don't know what else I would use that isn't bloated.

It is a dead app though sadly.

Rest of the civilized world have unlimited or huge data plans and get charged a shitload of money for SMS unless they have a specific plan that includes certain amount.

I use a prepaid plan with no data so I use SMS only for urgent stuff and FB Messenger/WhatsApp for the rest when I have Wifi.
I'd like the collapse the two with a data only plan but I haven't found a cheap one in Canada.
