Is studying informatics/computer science at university a good idea?
Depends on the university and what it teaches. If they're focused on the "science" part of Computer Science (as in: the theoretical / mathematical / formal side of things) then yes, provided you're into that kind of stuff. If they're focused on "computer" (as in: they're a glorified vocational school producing code monkeys) then don't bother and get some books instead.

I am, so I hope so.
If you are in Europe, then yes (as long as you don't pay a lot of tuition like the Americans or Brits).
If you want, there is a good scholarship for people who want to study in Norway. Free language course for 1 year then a full bachelor.

If you're in the better European countries, then yes.
If you're in America or some shitty country, then no.
The only people who meme about CS degrees are idiots who got theirs in America.
Study electrical/mechanical engineering instead.
Just learn a programming language on the side and you will still be able to get developer jobs. AND unlike CS plebs you will be qualified for a lot more tech jobs.
CS isn't a real science so you just study an arbitrary mix of math, computer engineering and programming.
