I've seen folks using VMs before where they ran silky smooth at like 60-120FPS with 0 input lag. They worked so well that they were able to play games etc on them....
So, what VMs run that well? Virtualbox runs like shit no matter what OS I'm launching it from. Are there other options (premium is fine too) for VMs that run in "realtime"?

Are you enabling VT-x?
At work we use heavy shit under VMs and I can't tell the difference between guest and host OS.
We do, however, play that under 10/10 workstations.

KVM+qemu+VGA passthrough

If you want to game on a VM, you're gonna need to dedicate a separate GPU for it - use PCIe passthrough to give your VM direct access to one of your PC's GPUs. Normally a VM would use an "emulated GPU", which is basically useless for anything more challenging than Excel.

I don't actually want to game on it; I want to run Kali.
I just hate how fucking slow it is.

I am not, and I do not know how. I will look it up, though.

Would it be possible to pass the VM my mobo's chipset and then pass my host OS the video card still?

VMware.
