Two separate SSDs vs both in RAID 0? Which one is better, /g/?

If you make regular backups, RAID 0. If you don't, separate drives.

Does RAID 0 increase the chance of the SSDs dying?

Yes. At least two years ago you couldn't trim during raid.
If you want pure speed nvme is the way to go. If you want every day speed getting pretty much anything is OK.
Storage goal is one large SSD. Speed is nvme and cheap storage is HDD.
