Does anyone here have experience modding cables? By that I mean, has anyone here ever successfully cut up cables to fit different devices?
I recently bought a 10-ft USB2 to Micro USB cable for y drawing tablet. The only problem is, the plastic around the Micro end is too thick to fit into the slot on the tablet that has the female end, so I can't plug that end in. I think I'm going to try cutting off parts of the plastic to see if I can make the male end thinner, but I'm not sure the best way to go about this.
Can anyone vouch for any methods? A pocket knife isn't sharp enough so far.

Throw your knife in the trash and get a better one.

Has this worked for you before? I've considered but I don't want to fuck up anything.

Micro usb? Just trim the plastic. I did it before when my phone had a huge case and the charger was too thick.

It's a Swiss army knife: it has a bottle opener on it.
Yeah man I use a USB cord that I wired up to a fan extension cable so that I could cool a GPU when I was using a spare a few years ago.
Just cut that fucker like you'd cut some wicked hot slash and tape shit together ol' willy nilly style.
My method of gash slashing is with teeth. It's what I use to cut cords, too.
