Question: How badly would an FX 6300 bottleneck a GTX 960 or R9 380x? I heard AMD gpus don't work well with cpus with weak cores.
It's true AMD GPUs work best with faster single threaded cores. The 380x is better than a 960 in terms of raw power though .
I have a 8350 and a 390 . For my usage it works very well .
Frogs
Oveclocked to 4.4GHz, it's pretty good.
My [email protected] sometimes bottlenecks my 380x, but that's usually in very CPU heavy games.

Only high demanding games like gta 5 night vhave some problems

I was thinking about migrating over to a haswell i5 build to reduce the bottleneck on my r9 270x in cpu heavy games. Was just wondering if an nvidia card would be a better idea instead of switching my whole platform.

yes. You should get double-jewed. Go for the intel-nvidia combo.
Leave AMD inmediately you traitor.

*** in proprietary video games
It's fine for computing, AI research and rendering.

>upgrading from shit to slightly less shit
Just save up until you can afford something good. Bouncing between shit hardware isnt gonna do any good.

I'm not loyal to brands I just get whatever is cheaper and works better

Considering the most intensive thing my pc is going to be doing is streaming at 720p while playing a game. I don't see the justification of going to an i7 or something.
Should I wait for a rx 470 or buy a r9 380 now?
>>55812171
The 470 will be faster than the 380 for sure . But ita up to you if you want to wait

>you traitor.
I swear this is what I used to say when I was 12 while being hardcore into playstation 2 fanbase.
stop saying bottleneck when you don't know what it means
bottlenecking happens when one part of your system stops another from performing at 100%
no modern cpu, not even a celeron or athlon, will stop your gpu from performing as fast as it can. sure you could get more performance if you got a faster cpu, but that would come from increased cpu performance not from your gpu

Are there any rx490 release dates?
