If you could go back in time to the 80's and make available to programmers one modern pc component, which component would you choose? (Assume the PSU can power it and that it can be made compatible with the mobo, but nothing else.)

I'm going with a SSD. Not sure what they would do with extra space, but speed and reliability would be a good thing, and it won't be bottlenecked as hard as other parts.

SSD. Programs were small and they had to cut somethings from them because of space.
I'm going to give them a CPU watercooler with rgb fans on the radiators. As both a warning about the horrors that will await mankind in the 2010's, but also because their faces would be hilarious.

A 4K flat panel. Lets see them drive that with a MC6845.
I'd give them a blowtorch and explain the cancerous rapid growth of the personal computer will ultimately be prove to be more harmful than the technologys slow death. Burn it all.
PSU powered blacklights
A modern hyper-threaded CPU. We'd have software that can work on multiple threads everywhere by now.
