I actually thought the same thing and when I checked the folder it did have the entire list of user ID's and shit stored as JSON files.

But the thing is, only the user's id and past comments are not encrypted. So while it is a little fucked up, it's no different from something like reddit where you have a username and comment history. And yes, you could harass them if you wanted to by sending them spam mails, but you most certainly would not be able to dox them.
>>
>>55801434
>So while it is a little fucked up, it's no different from something like reddit where you have a username and comment history
Except this comment history follows you across sites due to zeronet using the same cert_sign and cert_user_id unless you make one per site (you can only make a new one every several hours) and always make sure to use the right one for the right site. Although that still leaves the problem of this making it easy for you to search the comments across every site for similar patterns and post topics to get around that since everything is in the same format.
>>
>>55801283
No it really isn't. I2p is more like tor and you still need a server to host shit, whereas zeronet is completely decentralized. The only similarity is that they're both p2p, and a lot of things are p2p.
>>
Oh look it's the weekly shill attempt for zeronet!

>b-but I'm not--i mean they're not selling anything senpai!

Fuck off with your half baked garbage no one wants to use zerochan
>>
>>55801665
Zeronet = reddit
Zites = subreddits

Although I hate to make the comparison, it's the best example I can think of. After all, your posts on various subreddits will still be tied to your main reddit account, unless you want to create a separate account for each subreddit.

Also, it just doesn't matter what you post anonymously unless you really care that much about your e-peen.
>>
>>55801765
It's not half-baked, it's just new. It certainly doesn't help when people like you immediately brush things off without even trying them out.

But yeah, zerochan is shit.
>>
>>55801802
>Zeronet = reddit
>Zites = subreddits
>
>Although I hate to make the comparison, it's the best example I can think of
Another comparison would be the universal internet ID that China requires people to use when they post on websites so the government can identify all their posts. It's also much harder to change your zeronet ID than it is to make a new account on reddit. In either case, it's something that shouldn't exist in something advertised as a harder to censor alternative to regular websites.
>>
>>55801915
Zeronet is not government affiliated and would certainly never prosecute an individual for what they post online, not to mention the fact that even being able to create multiple zeronet IDs means that their goal is completely different than the Chinese government.

I mean in the end it's a matter of whether or not you trust the company with your personal info, I hope you don't think that you're truly anonymous on 4chan just because it says "Anonymous".
>>
>>55802039
>Zeronet is not government affiliated and would certainly never prosecute an individual for what they post online
They're still enabling it to the extent where regular users can easily track posters across sites. If it ever did get big I'd be willing to bet that people would regularly resort to broadcasting and criticizing other's porn habits when arguing instead of discussing the topic at hand.

>not to mention the fact that even being able to create multiple zeronet IDs
With a 6 hour delay between requests per IP address they definitely aren't making it easy to do so.

>I hope you don't think that you're truly anonymous on 4chan just because it says "Anonymous".
From the government and the webhost no. From advertisers and other users however.
>>
>>55802171
Like I said earlier man, it really doesn't matter what you post anonymously unless you care about your e-peen.

Unless you go around introducing yourself as anon6284, then there is nothing tying you to your 4chan, reddit or zeronet account.

Not to mention the fact that I couldn't give less of a shit if people knew my porn habits. And if I did, I would just refrain from posting comments on those sites, since there is no record of your browsing history.
>>
>>55802274
>then there is nothing tying you to your 4chan, reddit
In the event that zeronet did manage to get big however there'd still be the problem of getting tracked across every zite you frequent.

>And if I did, I would just refrain from posting comments on those sites, since there is no record of your browsing history.
And there's the problem. What good is a platform designed to combat censorship by governments when the design encourages self censorship? Boards like /d/ likely wouldn't exist on 4chan if 4chan worked like zeronet.

fuck off to >>>/v/
>>
>>55800919
I use it for zero torrents, I like it
>>
>>55802390
And why is it a problem if my zeronet ID is being tracked? Does it matter if somebody's reddit username is being tracked across multiple subreddits?

I'm sure there are many hardcore fetish subreddits similar to /d/ all with avid posters. Why is that?

It doesn't encourage self censorship. If you really care that much then just make another zeronet ID. Yes it's not as easy as making another reddit account, but it shouldn't be too difficult to refrain from posting about porn for 6 hours.
>>
>>55802579
Exactly, this is what the platform is designed for, so that the government wouldn't be able to shut down whatever website they like.

Although the social aspect is a part of it, I highly doubt they are trying to create another 4chan or reddit.
>>

>Does it matter if somebody's reddit username is being tracked across multiple subreddits?
The purpose of zeronet is to offer an alternative to regular websites, a comparable situation would be if it was easy for the average user to correlate your posts across reddit, facebook, 4chan, etc.

>Yes it's not as easy as making another reddit account, but it shouldn't be too difficult to refrain from posting about porn for 6 hours.
As opposed to the regular intenet or competing services like Freenet which do not have this problem nor the other problems that come with zeronet such as the lack of input sanitation to keep posters from uploading malicious javascript or making the page load malicious websites (which there is currently no way for other users to protect themselves from).
>>
should have started with a sponsor that would give like 1000 seedboxes so that people would see its power. it's just a shitty system with 100 people now. fuck it.

Torrents leak your IP any way fucktard. The purpose of 0net is not anonymity, go use freenet for that. What browser does not leak IP?

Wait, so does this require just posting putting the javascript in your post or does it require you to submit it a different way? Say I wanted to insert:

>>55803145
centralizing a decentralized website? bravo coder.
>>
>>55803201
I'm not sure how relaying messages makes the website centralized but whatever.
>>
>>55803240
it works as p2p?
>>
>>55803200
It would require you editing the javascript for posting on your end to post it.
>>
>>55803092
Depends on how it works. If it just blocks known bad sites or based on signatures it may or may not work in a given case.
