Why is this allowed?
>>55788965
Because that's how diminishing returns works
>>55789014
C90 is around the corner anon
>>55788965
That's actually an amazing tradeoff for laptops
The vast majority of people these days only use laptops
Ergo, it's much more profitable to target laptops
>>55788965
it may disable intel turbo boost, which rapes temps
>>55788965
Turbo usually involves an unnecessarily hefty voltage boost, combined with stock HSFs being at their limit.
Oh, and reducing maximum processor state to 95% will be well over a 5% drop in clockspeed. My i7 3770 drops to 3.1GHz from a possible 3.9GHz turbo.
Turbo boost is disabled. Limiting to 99% would have the same effect.
>>55789116
This. I disabled Turbo Boost on my Macbook Pro and temperatures plummeted.
>>55789116
What does turbo boost even do
>>55789474
Boosts perf with turbo
What's not to get?
>>55789541
How does it do that?
>>55789578
Temporarily overclocks your CPU.
>Year of our lord Stallman 1953+63
>not having aftermarket cooling
You should prob consider suicide if this sounds like you.
>>55789578
Meme magic, how else?
>>55789578
it's turbo-tastic
>>55788965
because temps raises exponentially, and you're somewhere on the edge of your cpu capabilities
or you have terrible, terrible cooler
>>55789474
Overclocks your CPU.
>>55788965
woah a whole 20 cents
noice
>>55791077
celsius you ignorant slut

Not him but 20c != 20°C.

20c != ¢20
>>55788965
>Limit cpu power by 5%
How do you do this?
>>55789167
Isn't the turbo boost only on one core anyway?
>>55789038
>Not using C11
My motherboard can only do C7
>>55793174
BIOS/regedit/drivers/Power Options
>>55793174
This checkbox is where you can change it.
Win8.1 and earlier, not sure if Win10 allows such flagrant control of your PC.

God...
This is a japanese imageboard, do you even know what you're talking about?
>>55793452
>>55793460
And linux?
>>55793254
No. I turbo all of my cores to 2.3 from 2.0 stock speed. It will turbo on all cores if you have the cooling for it.
>>55793463
Jesus Christ, do you have autism or something you can't even follow a simple conversation.

You're dumb kid...
>>55793470
Generally the kernel will detect and use a driver that will allow cpu management but you will probably need to google for a package supported by your distro to allow CLI or GUI adjustments.
>>55793515
You're just embarrassing yourself now.
Everyone knows about Comiket you dumbass, what I find surprising is how you don't know about C- States despite being in a Technology board.
Get the fuck out, idiot.
>>55793521
Like what?
>>55793535
LMFAO
>>55788965
Boy or a gal?
>>55793606
Truly.
I think it was a great joke right on the mark of both the topic and sub-topic of the image.
