OK, /g/, I'm building my own computer for the first time, and my case comes with two spots to mount 2.5" drives. My question is, if I plug the SATA cable from the PSU into it and turn it on, am I going to fry the drive?

Pic very related.

This, just don't plug the fan connector of your PSU (if there are any) to the motherboard fan headers.
