what do you think about this, is it good distro?
>>55778304
I like it. It's not flashy, it's been solid as a rock for me. Would recommend.
>>55778320
did you play any games on it? does it give better performance than other distros which use a DE
>>55778338
If you want games, just install windows
>>55778304
I use CBPP on my old 2007 intel mac. Works flawlessly for shitposting.
I have #! on one of my netbooks from before it ceased. Haven't used it in a long time, but it was decent af for a netbook. In the future should I use "BunsenLabs" or #!++?
>>55778304
I used to run #! as my first distro, was pretty dope. It's better than jewbuntu and gets shit done, and the default conky install is the tits.
It's basically a skinned and lightly modified debian, so if you don't really know what you're doing, then this is the OS for you. otherwise, just install debian and it won't make a lick of difference if you know how to set things up the way you want.
kthx bye

BunsenLabs
>>55780282
I perfer #!++, but Bunsenlabs will likely have a stronger base for moving forward (active community, proper forums).
didnt #! stop being maintained? is that an alternative/fork? meh...
Well shit, I didn't know this excisted. I really loved using #! on my old Asus EeePC. Time to give this a try on my chinkpad.

God tier on the T60
>>55778304
Not really. I used it for a while back when crunchbang was hip in desktop threads, good few years ago. Nowadays I use bunsen labs in VM due to low memory footprint and fact that you can install it easily and fast. Debian based distros are garbage for desktop use. Testing delays security updates, stable is ancient and if you are going to use unstable you are better off with arch. Just use ubuntu like a normal person if you are too afraid of arch.

I have a T420 I got refurbed. Currently trying out eOS on it. If I can get a new battery for my EeePC, I might have a new distro to put on it.
>>55778304
Hashtag exclamation mark plus plus? Never heard of it.
>there's a loonix distribution literally called hashtag-doubleplus
Fucking hell you guys are retards.
>>55780959
>Currently trying out eOS on it.
I will never understand why every linux newfriend starts with this shit nowadays. There is a good reason why eos is universally hated and considered garbage. It's just fancy looking, poorly maintained Ubuntu developed by a bunch of douches.
>>55780959
Yeah, I'd imagine it'd definitely help breathe some life into your EeePC
>>55780965
>Hashtag
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>55780997
I personally don't recommend it or really know anything about it. Installed it out of curiosity.
If I was ever asked by someone new to linux about which one to use, I would tell them either Ubuntu or Mint.
Crunchbang was good, and the reason there's a ++ is that the guy behind it stopped developing it.
So #!++ should be good too.
Pretty decent minimalist distro, but not so far down the rabbit hole as using i3
What's the diffenrence between BunsenLanbs and #!++?
>>55781171
Different forks of #!
>>55778338
>play games on it?
Every fucking Linux thread.
>>55781171
Bunsenlabs is the "community" continuation of #! and #!'s website redirects to bunsenlabs. Bunsenlabs also changed up the themeing just a bit and has some preconfigured options #!++ does not. #!++ is developed by one guy and stays truer to the design of #!. There's a third fork out there, but it seems inferior to both.
It was my first distro that taught me how to linux mostly. learned a lot about configs openbox tint2 etc. i mean the regular crunchbang. solid. works well .no hate here and the community was cool
>>55780959
Using refurb t420 righ tnow. windows works and boots in a few seconds. And I mean windows 10.But yeah great for linux and esp distros like this
damn. didn't know about https://www.bunsenlabs.org/
I miss #1 it was great. Now I wanna try this out
It was also great for just a live ISO
>>55780884
Have you installed Libreboot on your T60?
Also, lxterminal is much smaller and it's pretty much the same thing as terminator.
>>55778429
What your looking for is a Playstation.
>>55782250
Nah, haven't tried to flash libreboot due to none of the 1024x768 panels being listed as supported on the compatibility list. Might try it down the line though, have a friend that can do it for me while backing up the proprietary bios.
And thanks, I'll check out lxterminal
>>55778338
Steam works fine on it.
>>55778338
>does it give better performance than other distros which use a DE
Why would it?
