help get this upgrade ape off my back

I have a nivue 144 1080p freesync. Smooth like silk or butter. That said, id prefer 1440 60hz. Not all games support above 60fps and not necessary unless you play competitively

If you're just gaming get a 1070, I do both so I'm going with a 480Nitro+ and Freesync monitor

huh any particular reason to go with the 480 for graphics work only advantage I've been aware of it having over the 1070 is async compute and being half the price.

You can use either of them for graphics. Both are more than adobe digital editions would need in my opinion. The only reason I'm going with the 480 is because the extra money can go to a monitor and BattleField 1 will be DX12(The only game I really play).

I work at a place that recycles old tech for schools and businesses so if I look around could probably get a used 1440p screen which might even have advanced graphics features like 10bit color for bout wholesale price.

which i think is like 60 bucks not sure.

asked about 144hz cause I wasn't sure whether it was better graphics than the higher resolution and I'm not gonna find a gaming monitor at work so I'd have to buy it.
plus the 480 don't look like its gonna be a good 1440p card for anything without async.

mostly worried how well the 1070 will age I could afford a 1080 if it had async but I'm not waiting till next year for the 490, and I want whatever I get to last
