samefag here, additionally, Motos aren't about razor's edge specs. They're about a clean OS with super useful third party features, that make them arguably the slickest Android phones you can get. I've had all three Moto X gens so far, and after constantly playing with friends' and family's phones, I can say without doubt that Moto Xs are the fucking cat's ass.

That's good to hear. My only experience with Moto smartphones is a first gen G that I suggested to my mother after she broke her N4. I've found it be to quite durable and reliable.

In retrospect, the Qualcomm 810 debacle is working out well for value in last-year flagships.

Oh, I forgot to ask: did yours not come with the bumper case in the box? The reviews I've read mentioned it and showed pics of a transparent bumper. I've used a bumper case on my N4 for nearly the entire 3(?) years I've had it and I quite like the form factor.

It did, but it's kind of flimsy and don't full protect the back. If you want a bumper, go for the case-mate ones. They're fantastic and have saved my 2014 and 2015 from several hard falls.

Didn't really see what the big deal was it was a neat fast phone the again so still was my note 2 running the same Official CM13 nightlies

I returned it for a full refund and went back to using my note 2...

Anecdotal evidence, but I've literally never ran low on battery thanks to the lightning fast recharge. 15 minutes on the OEM charger actually does put more than half my battery back on the 2015. Removable would be ideal, but the 2015's battery is more than up to the job.

I expect that to be more or less true with IPS. At this price point though, that's going to be a common problem as with the OP1/2/3. As long as the screen doesn't suffer from horrid color tinting like the OP series have, I'll be okay.

64gbwoodfag here. It's not perfect, but it's one of the most color-correct screens I've seen in a long time. The ever-so-slightest bit green-leaning, but even much better than the ice cold iphone 6S, and much more balanced than the S7.

Nupe. Still on 6.0.0 because Lenovorola is gay, I adjust the screen manually for inside and outside because it's brightness range is crazy, and I use Nova Launcher. Everything else is great. GPS and Bluetooth on all day, in a building with shitty reception. The thing is a trooper.

I haven't done a drain yet because I want this battery to last as long as possible, but I can tell you that eight hours in a thick-walled building with terrible/no WiFi isn't a problem. I have about 2/3 at the end of the work day with average browsing/texting/google hangouts use. I really don't have any plans to stress test this one, because deep cycles are the enemy of modern Li-ion batteries.

Phone body and build quality are rock solid. Just remember it has a raised screen, so those are susceptible to drops by design. Get a case and don't microwave it and you'll be happy happy happy.

The one is OP's link is a dense, non-slip rubber. Quite nice. All of the 2015's backs were designed with non-slip in mind. The base backs are non-slip and textured, the leather is cross-hatched, and the wood backs are siliconized.

As a point of interest, they sell international variants--the S7's SM-930F for example--with their own 1-year warranty, unlike Amazon which sells them with no warranty.

The wave to preview is very reliable. It can even tell hands from random bullshit with decent reliability. It has a very short timer, so you're not constantly setting it off, but any new notification will refresh the timer. I use it on my desk at work all the time, and to quickly see notifications at traffic lights from my car mount. It's a much better gesture-based system than Samshit's.

It also uses the gyro so it can tell when you're pulling it out of your pocket or lifting it from face down, and has a unique voice trigger that's primed when you lift it from those positions that gives you the Okay Google voice commands, but through the earpiece as opposed to speaker.

This LG G4 variant is inexpensive as well but lacks a reliable root method. The camera and possibly the screen are better than the X Pure, though. If you're considering SD808-based phones, it certainly deserves a look.

I prefer easy root and Marshmallow but there are other options.

got it all set up the way i liked the day i got it, put it to charge and went to sleep. woke up, tried to turn the flash light on and the phone froze and rebooted. when it came back to life, the flashlight was missing from the entire OS. i opened the camera to turn the flash on, and the rear facing camera was gone too. no option to swap from front to rear. they were just gone from the system.

contacted them, they asked me to to a factory reset to make sure it wasn't software, did just that, and nada. same deal. they literally just disappeared.

I imagine that's a function of the 21MP sensor's smaller pixels versus the later 12/16MP sensors with wider aperture that are popular now. The LG/Samsung flagships have had great OIS as well, which Moto lacks.
