Being a 15 year old kid, buying a 500+ GPU from the vendor and actually having to choose between the ATI X800XTPE and Nvidia 6800 Ultra. Back when it was still an even fight. What the hell happened?

GPUs can be used for more than games now, and they no longer go obsolete every 6~10 months, which justifies the higher price. I'm fine with this.

My first GPU was a 1MB Expertcolor S3. When I upgraded to P3 450 and 32 MB TNT2 and ran Half Life in Direct3d mode, I felt like i was in a science fiction.
