One and I don't plan on plugging it in again.

depending on how their DNS was setup, it could localy redirect that URL first before asking for something on the internet

assuming dynamicly assigned DNS

I'm sure it just resolved to 192.168.1.1 so you'd get your router's config page. Other manufacturers do the same thing.

I guess asking people to type in a short string of numbers makes them think their hacking teh c0mp.

Got one with openWRT. No regrets
>>

This. It couldn't go out to the internet or else everyone's fucking router would have to be forwarding port 80.

OP is dumb as usual
>>
>>55752849
yeah, but that is done through DNS, which is how the "exploit" can happen

Most people just connect to the router and then it werks. This would mean the router tells the client to use the routers as a DNS, so the URL will work properly. You break this if you hand specify the DNS to say 8.8.8.8
>>

> not having your router hijack port 53 traffic

Fuck off
>>
>>55752890
that is truly devious
i shame any router that would do this

In which case hand specify the address of the router you nob.
Normals aren't going to manually set their DNS servers and the people who do have no excuse for not logging into their router correctly.

I have one and http://tplinklogin.net/ resolves to the gateway IP.
