Why can't irc clients on winblows or loonix look this good
It's either spreadsheets on windows
or TUIs on linux

1. IRC isn't on the web, and in fact predates the web.
2. HTTP and HTML are some of the oldest things on the web. By your logic, you shouldn't use them, right?

Why would you need a graphical interface for irc? All the information is plain text.

I tried this WeeChat thing
Someone posted a 2-line link
Can't click because broken at new line
Googled, no solution
Tried selecting it
Can't select because TUI and usernames, timestamps etc. also get selected
Had to manually remove selected garbage from url
TUIs were created when the only graphics available were character based consoles
Using them now results in hassles mentioned above
>>55748875
Anyone who is anyone is on IRC & Mailing Lists
Both things are untrendy to millenials, underage and hipsters. Which is good: Less useless faggots running around.
>>55749216
I dunno, the majority of channels in Rizon seem to disagree.
>>55749314
Rizon is mainly for the anime scene.

You can hold down the alt key while selecting text to make a "rectangular" selection.
>>55748043
I can run an irc client on anything that can handle a tcp connection (for less than 5$). Why would you need 16+GB of RAM and 10,000$ for that?

!anonymous @ IRCnet for a true anonirc experience
Honestly it's a pretty horrible channel and the only users are a bunch of shitposting Finns and Germans and a lonely ircop who has idled on the channel since the beginning of time, but if you're bored with circlejerks and namefags it's a whole new experience. It doesn't even have any operators. Besides, it has pretty cool ASCII art from time to time.
I just want more sensible people join the channel so that I have someone else to chat with than the retards than currently reside there. It's the only English anonymous channel I know of.
I've been thinking about making an IRC client that looks similar to slack to try to pull people back to pure IRC. Not sure how well it would work though.

Textual is open source, if you compile it yourself (or find someone else who's done it) you're all set.
I'm fairly certain this is intentional on the devs' part, but not sure.
>>55753313
>so is no software legitimately shit?
What? A lot of software, I'd even might say that the majority of it, is shit.
However weechat, which is offered open source with timely updates and multiple plugins, is far cry from being shit.
Trillian IRC looks good senpai

There's no other irc client that is ad good as ERC, and it runs on pretty much anything.
You know, call me a shitter but I like how gnome 3 looks by default. It's pretty much the only thing I like to look at with the average screenshots of flat shit like numix or arc or whatever the fuck, or those weebs with their bitmap fonts and their very tiny panels.
I would have switched to linux a while ago if it weren't for the fact that
1. AMDGPU drivers aren't still available, or it seems so, for 280x
2. As a result, some animations stutter like a bitch nigga
