Fucking Supercard for GBA, nothing else

MicroSDs were much more expensive than MiniSDs back in the day, but after phones popularized them economies in scale made them dirt cheap as they are now. Devices used to be bigger so tiny cards were not a necessity.

I see them a lot in old pre-iPhone smartphones.

Without doing any research into it. I imagine it was developed from a need/desire for a compact format at a time when
1. Manufacturing micro sd in suitable sizes was cost prohibitive
2. Devices weren't small enough to truly require micro.

You need it for dual booting Linux on the Dingoo. After putting Linux on it, I actually never removed it from my Dingoo since about 2010.
