It's got everything great about UNIX, and a super functional GUI. I've been using OS X for well over a decade and it's hard to imagine doing any actual work on anything else. I really like Windows 10 (currently dual-booting my Mac), but it still feels like a toy compared to OS X.

I used Windows for video games until I grew up and stopped being a manchild. Windows is for gaming. Linux is for programmers who want to brag instead of using macOS for mainstreamed programming. Linux is also for pseudo-intellectual weebs who, instead of finding a job, must install Arch to prove something that no one cares about.

macOS is the best operating system. It's designed exactly how things should be designed. It's a computer. It's just supposed to work. You're not special for using a Linux distro. I'd suggest you try a Hackintosh first. Then, buy the real deal once you save up enough money. I tried it to see if I liked it and never went back to anything else. Everything else is extremely inferior now. People who use/used macOS understand what I'm talking about. If you haven't used it you just don't get it.

it is by far the most productive OS for programming. It almost feels like Linux, you don't feel like you're missing out much in comparison, but it's stable and there is software that is compatible with it, but not Linux.

I stayed on Mavericks for a really long time, if it wasn't obvious from my screen shot, my 1,1 Mac Pro is very unsupported past 10.7.5. I've pretty much capped it out at El Capitan, but 10.9 ran better on it.
