Alright /g/, my 780 went and died a while back so now I'm looking for a replacement, I want a card to play high/ultra 1080p@60fps.
What does /g/ suggest?
>>55731994
RX 480 Nitro
>>55731994
GTX 1070
RX 480 or GTX 1060.
If you can go higher or not depends on your budget.
>>55731994
any (decent) video card that costs over 200 should be able to pull off 1080p.
Rx 480 is nice and cheap.
Gtx 960 is a bit worse than Rx 480 but still good.

i'm talking about 4gb cards not 8.
8gb is overkill for 1080p.
>>55732578
Tell that to mirrors edge catalyst
>>55732588
that piece of shit needs a better cpu than video card.
>>55731994
>>make a fake benchmark char
R9 390 is par with 780 but useless this days. AMD RX480 is your best bet.

>gtx700 released May 2013
>today 2016
buy 1070 from any vendor with 3 years warranty for another 3+ years worry free meant to be played experience. And when it will die in 2019, you will get new card for free.
>8gb is overkill for 1080p.
Once the steam hardware survey will show that high VRAM memory is spreading like disease among average (read poor) user base, the devs will abuse it and you will need it for sure. Also all the super high textures resolution packs pretty much needs it.

>buy 1070
>buy a massively paperlaunched card that is virtually non existent or marked up by price scalpers
