Even 5" is too big to use a phone SECURELY one-handed. I.e. to be able to use it while running, moving... to pull it quickly out of your pocket, do/check something, and put it away without any awkwardness and without feeling that you may lose your grip on it.

4-4.5" is really the sweet spot.

I have a 5.5" phone, a 4.2" phone, and a 3.5" phone as well as a 9" tablet.

It really is hard to go back to smaller screens. Im not a manlet so I can manage the 6" phone with one hand although I admit I have trouble some times and need to take extra care. But everything looks so much better at 5.5". When my thumb can't wrap to the opposite side of the screen, then it's to big.
